Courses CP Description
Compulsory Biophysics Modules
30 Compulsory modules with a strong focus in Biophysics:
• Biophysics Lab (8 CP ungraded) • Adv. Biophysics Seminar (4 CP graded) • Biophysics : Fundamentals Methods (9 CP graded) • Biophysics : Advanced Methods (9 CP graded) Biohysics Lab ist not graded, the other modules are graded and count towards the final grade.
Specialisation Modules 18 Modules have to be chosen from two of the listed specialization subjects:
• Biochemistry • Cell Biology and Genetics • Inorganic Chemistry • Organic Chemistry • Neurobiology • Molecular Medicine • Physics • Stochastics and Bioinformatics
At least 6 CP are necessary for each chosen subject. Grades count towards the final grade.
Adaptation Modules 9 Courses in a different area from the one relevant for the Bachelor.
• for physicists: Biochemistry, Biology, Organic Chemistry or Molecular Medicine • for all others: Physics, Mathematics and Statistics.
The 9 CP are graded but they do not count towards the final grade.
German course or ASQ 3 Compulsory German language course for all non-native speakers; German students can choose to attend courses from the ASQ offered at the University of Ulm. The 3 CP are graded but they do not count towards the final grade.
Biophysics Research Project 15 Research project to be carried out in a biophysics laboratory. This module is graded and count towards the final grade.
Selected Research Project 15 Research project to be carried out in a non- biophysics lab. This module is graded and count towards the final grade.
Master‘s thesis 30 Main research project. The thesis is graded and counts towards the final grade.
