Mitch is a graduate of the Line Crew Ground Support (LCGS) training

program. After graduation, he secured work on the Pikangikum Power Line

Project. He first began with traffic control and has quickly moved on to

working with the stringing and clipping-in crews. He is looking forward to

starting his apprenticeship, allowing him to work with a variety of crews

within the project.

Corey Purcell, Line Superintendent says “Mitch is a great guy –

easygoing, he fits in well. He works hard and is a great addition to the

team.”

Mitch says his favorite part of the job is working high up in the

bucket. Despite the long days on the job and working at a remote worksite, he says the days just fly by and “it helps that the food is

amazing, and the crews are great.” Mitch credits part of his success to the LCGS training program, “the program gave me some great

skills and all the certificates I needed to get started.” His advice for current trainees is simple: learn your knots! “I wish I had practiced my

knots more, they are a big part of our safety on the job and the one thing we need to be sure of.” He visited with the Round 2 trainees

and shared advice about sticking with the training and working away from home. “Always look for ways you can help your crew and

trades people, they are more likely to mentor those who show initiative.”

Everyone on the Project wishes Mitch continuing success in his career!
