Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils. should be able to:1. Blend phonemes into words based on pictures, spell and

pronounce correctly.2. Segment words into phonemes correctly based on pictures.3. Read and understand a story using correct stress, rhythm and

pronunciation.

Activities:1. Teacher reads a story on Ben’s Red Bug (TB pg:66). Pupils

listen.2. Pupils read the story after the teacher. Teacher let the pupils

make mistakes as correction will be made later.3. Teacher draws out a few words from the story that emphasis

on letter sound of /h/, /r/ and /b/4. Play a ‘sound station’ game (Refer to TB pg:65)5. Pupils blend two to four phonemes and read the words aloud6. Follow by segmenting the words with teacher’s guidance.7. Teacher provides worksheets and ask the pupils to listen
