19. Academic Sessions:
Semester system is followed in the Institute. First semester of the session commences
in August and goes up to November end. Second semester starts in the first/second week of
January and goes up to May. In each semester the Institute works for all 6 days in a week. 90
days of teaching is completed in each semester excluding days of examination.
Examination system:
Semester System: Continuous Evaluation and Final Examination
For theory classes: total for internal continuous evaluation is 20 % and for End
Semester Examination, it is 80%.
For laboratory courses: 100 % continuous assessment. Internal evaluation comprises
of three mid semester examinations and assignments.
Based on performance of tests latter grades are awarded and CGPA is calculated.
Period of declaration of results:
For End Semester Examination conducted by the university the result is declared
within one month of the last exam. For Internal tests the answer sheets are evaluated and
shown to the students within one week of the examination in a subject.
18. Counselling / Mentoring:
Each staff has to mentor around 6 to 7 students. Weekly one hour has been allocated
for mentoring the students. Staff members are maintaining mentor record sheet. Students’
academic and personal problems might be discussed in mentoring hour. Students felt comfort
after mentoring.
Career Counselling:
Employability skills enrichment programmes were conducted to II Year MBA
Students at regular intervals.
