Program Overview Program Overview

A.Program Goals•The Afghanistan Workforce Development Program (AWDP) is to support for the expansion and strengthening of private sector for mid-career workers in key economic sectors.

•Contribute to a reduction in (a) the high level of under- and unemployment among Afghan nationals; and (b) the current dependency on foreign workers to fill semi-professional, skilled jobs in Afghanistan.

B. AWDP Base Period Grants’ Result,

• AWDP trained over 9,000 participants and place over

5,000.

• 26 grants were implemented by 19 grantees in the six

provinces

• Identify and place AWDP trained jobseekers in private sector companies.

• Strengthen the private sector through introducing skilled mid-career jobseekers.

Placement process

• Collect trained jobseekers database from AWDP

• Analyze private companies’ skills need for semi-

professional jobseekers;

• Establish linkage with key employers in support of its

efforts to successfully place trained jobseekers

Application Evaluation Process

• Applicants Should provide all requirements which are

specified in the RFA

• Each application will be reviewed three times

• A BAFO meeting will be held with selected Applicants

• Selected Applications will be reviewed three times

• One best application will be awarded
