#15 KidZania Kuala Lumpur Industry Partners Newsletter August 2014 Kai Industry Partners! First of all, I would like to wish a very warm Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to our Muslim colleagues! I hope that your break was good and are now reenergised. I’m also sure that you have had a great Quarter 2 as well and have faith that we will enjoy a smooth Quarter 3. I am proud to announce that the Industry Partners Conference will kick off once again in September. Now in its third installment, ladies and gentlemen, you can hang up your heels and take off that tie as you get the chance to be a kid again at KidZania Kuala Lumpur in the Back-2-KidZ event! For the unfamiliar, Back-2-KidZ is one of our many fun corporate packages that allow working professionals like yourself the opportunity to revert to your childhood and experience the professions that you have always dreamed of being, such as a pilot, firefighter and even a fashion model (if you’re not already in that line of work!). After experiencing the fun activities, a semi-formal session takes place where our Corporate Partnership and Commercial Development (CPCD) team members will go through a short presentation to review the establishments, marketing campaign as well as events and CSR initiatives conducted. The team will also provide updates and milestones achieved in KidZania Kuala Lumpur. This year’s Industry Partners Conference will be graced by a very special guest all the way from Mexico City Mr Xavier López Ancona, Founder and President of KidZania. Xavier will be sharing insights into the theme park industry and also provide business ideas that will be beneficial to all. The team will be in contact to save-the-date soon so I do hope that you will be able to make it as Xavier and I look forward to meeting with all of you soon. Z-U at the Industry Partners Conference! Yours sincerely, Tunku Dato’ Ahmad Burhanuddin From the Governor’s Desk Kai Everyone! Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! The past two months has most certainly been very busy for us at KidZania Kuala Lumpur! First, we celebrated the end of our annual global environment programme, Kids for a Greener World 2014 with a tree planting event in Taman Bukit Desa, Kuala Lumpur together with our Industry Partners and CongreZZ Kids. Next, KidZania Kuala Lumpur organised two Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects, bringing joy to the residents of Rumah Anak Yatim dan Ibu Tunggal Kg Medan in Petaling Jaya and Project Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) Taman Putra Damai in Lembah Subang. The two CSR projects are firsts for KidZania Kuala Lumpur, with one being the initiative of the Operations team of KidZania Kuala Lumpur and the other was held together with KidZania Kuala Lumpur’s Industry Partners. Especially for Hari Raya, KidZania Kuala Lumpur has been themed with pelitas, ketupats and festive messaging all around the park. We have also changed over some establishment activities to complement the festive season, so do come by with your kids soon. Also, I have an important announcement to make: Effective August 2014, Saturday operating hours will be changed to 10am - 7pm, making it only ONE session on Saturdays except during the school holiday. This way, you and your kids will be able to enjoy KidZania Kuala Lumpur for much longer! Z-U soon! Sincerely, Susan Mayor’s Hot Pick

Kids for a Greener World 2014

This year’s global environment programme ended with the planting of yet another 100 GPS-linked trees on Saturday 21 June. To date, KidZania Kuala Lumpur has planted 300 forest and landscape trees around Taman Tun Dr Ismail and Taman Bukit Desa, thanks to the support of the Kuala Lumpur City Council. The tree planting event was graced by Encik Azman Bin Aziz, Assistant Manager of Seputeh Branch, Kuala Lumpur City Hall; our supporting Industry Partners from F&N, Honda Malaysia and Nippon Paint Malaysia; KidZania Kuala Lumpur CongreZZ Kids; and also participants of the Kids for a Greener World inter-school contest.

KidZania Kuala Lumpur Organises First CSR Project!

In June, KidZania Kuala Lumpur organised their very first CSR project, in collaboration with iM4U. The project was conducted in three phases over a course of three consecutive weekends leading up to Ramadhan.

A look back – June 2014

Spreading Ramadhan Cheer On Saturday 5 July, KidZania Kuala Lumpur and its Industry Partners hosted a community activity and ‘Majlis Iftar’ for the children of PPR Taman Putra Damai. The public housing project has over 3,000 household units that are inhabited by mainly low-income earners and single parents. Over 80 children enjoyed games by KidZania go!, the mobile extension of KidZania, a fun treasure box painting craft by Nippon Paint Malaysia, an informative nutrition workshop and distribution of vitamins by Pharmaniaga and a delicious ‘buka puasa’ meal by Marrybrown. The PPR Taman Putra Damai community project is a collaborative effort with Persatuan Kebajikan Generasi Gemilang, a not-for-profit welfare organization.

Industry Partner Highlights

Proceeds from the Charity Yard Sale went towards organising a trip for the children to visit KidZania Kuala Lumpur on Sunday 22 June.

The final phase of the CSR project involved a visit to the home on Saturday 28 June, a day before Ramadhan, to fix up the cooking area and to build a new library, filled with reading materials courtesy of Kumpulan Media Karangkraf.

The first phase of the project saw KidZania Kuala Lumpur hold its first ever Charity Yard Sale on

Sunday 15 June 2014.
