CURRICULUM TARGET AUDIENCE

• Anyone with interest in computer hardware/software issues (‘life-skill’)

• Typically school students in Years 9-11 (ages approx 14-16) for

course credit[TAFE, University interest!!!]

• No prior experience with computer maintenance and repairs required

• Students should have a Reading Age Level of 13, basic computer literacy and Internet awareness

• Students from outside of the CCNA program can enroll (non CCNA LA’s)

• ‘community’ groups.

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PREREQUISITES

• Before an instructor can create a class for IT Essentials, they must have successfully completed both the curriculum training and Academy Orientation.

• Basic Computer Literacy and a reasonable understanding of the Windows Operating System.

• Not required to currently be teaching in the Academy Program.[If not a LA then must become a SC-First Academy]

• An educationally sound reason for undertaking.

• Successfully complete all required training (including final exam and skills assessment) as evidenced by the records in the online Assessment System.
