Evil, Unprofitable Servant• He was presumptuous

–Satan causes people to think they have all the time in the world to make things right with God.

–2 Corinthians 6:2

v. 48“...My master is not coming for a

long time”

2 Corinthians 6:2“for He says, "At the acceptable time I

listened to you, And on the day of salvation I helped you." Behold, now is "the acceptable time," behold, now is

"the day of salvation"—”

–Bite and devour others• Galatians 5:15v. 49“...And begins to beat his fellow

slaves...”

Evil, Unprofitable Servant• He was presumptuous• He was abusive• He began to walk in the ways of

the world–2 Peter 2:20-22v. 49“...begins ... to eat and drink with

drunkards.”

“For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome,

the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy

commandment handed on to them. It has happened to them according to the true

proverb, "A dog returns to its own vomit," and, "A sow, after washing, returns to

wallowing in the mire.”

Evil, Unprofitable Servant• Severe judgment of eternal damnation

–Matthew 24:50-51–The judgment will be unexpected–The judgment will be severe

• Matthew 21:42-44–The judgment will be the same as on

other evil people –The judgment will be grievous and

forever.

“the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour which he does not know, and will cut him in

pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be

weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

“Jesus said* to them, "Did you never read in the Scriptures, 'The stone which the builders rejected, This became the chief corner stone;

This came about from the Lord , And it is marvelous in our eyes '? "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing

the fruit of it. "And he who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it

falls, it will scatter him like dust."”

Faithful and Sensible Servant• Has been appointed by his master

–Matthew 24:45a

“"Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of

his household …”

John 8:34-35“Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I

say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. 35 "The slave does not

remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever.”

Romans 6:16“Do you not know that when you present

yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or

of obedience resulting in righteousness?”

Faithful and Sensible Servant• Has been appointed by his master• To give them food “at the proper

time” – Matthew 24:45b–We all are to exhort one another–Always help each other.

• Galatians 5:13

Hebrews 3:13“But encourage one another day after

day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by

the deceitfulness of sin.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11“Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also

are doing.”

servants teach faithful service.• Matthew 20:26-28

“Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions.”

Revelation 2:26-28“'He who overcomes, and he who keeps My

deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations; and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to pieces, as I also have received authority from My Father; and I

will give him the morning star.”

Revelation 3:21“'He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My

Father on His throne.”
