    Degree fellows are re@uired to $o"e to Honolulu alone for the first se"ester of the award to e$o"ea$@uainted with the Center< the University of Hawai‘i< and the Honolulu $o""unity< efore arrangingto have their fa"ilies )oin the" fro" aroad.

    Degree fellows who lan eventually to ring their fa"ilies should e fully aware of the high $ost ofliving in Honolulu< the li"ited availaility and high $ost of off-$a"us housing< and ese$ially thediffi$ulty in finding e"loy"ent oortunities for souses.

    The Center rovides li"ited assistan$e in the following ways

    • During the eriod of the fellowshi< the Center "ay arrange dor"itory sa$e for the souse

     y roviding a doule roo" eginning the se$ond se"ester of the award. The degree fellowis resonsile for the additional $ost of a doule roo" eyond the single-roo" rate.
