arigold Days Miss Mantorville CandidatesM

• • • • • • • •• • • • • • • •

Susanna is the daughter of Bruce and Kristin Bordelon. She is in 11thgrade and has participated in choir, VREP, AV club, sewing dresses she hasdesigned, rock climbing, flying airplanes, driving model T's, playing vio-lin, dog sitting, lectoring at church, writing to her sponsor child in Indiaand working at K-M Regional Veterinary Hospital. She likes living inMantorville because everyone knows one another, and there are well orga-nized seasonal events like Old Tyme Days and the Haunted House. Herfondest memory is the first time she rode on Stagecoach Road in a modelT with her grandfather driving. He was so happy to be driving one againjust like he had when he was 14. Happiness for Susanna occurs at themoment the hero in a melodrama courageously steps in to save the fairmaiden and foil the villain's evil plot. Susanna's short term goal is to fin-ish high school and become more involved with the Mantorville TheaterCo. and for the long term she would like to pursue a career in costumedesign.

Morgan EvensonMorgan is the daughter of Jim and Laura Evenson. She is in 11th grade

at KMHS. Laura has been involved in volleyball, softball, Link Crew, junior class officer, band/choir, jazz band, women's ensemble, SADD, peerministry and Knowledge Bowl. She likes living in Mantorville because it isa small community with many town events. Living in a small town alsomeans she is able to have many friends. Her fondest memory is from the fallof sixth grade when she and her best friend would walk the trails and sit ontop of Grimm . They carved their initials into a tree limb. Happiness forMorgan is the feeling of achievement after accomplishing a challenge.Morgan's short term goals are to increase her kill percentage in volleyball, attain a 4.0 for the first quarter of her junior year and for long term shewould like to graduate with high honors, make varsity for both volleyballand softball and graduate from college with a biology major.

Laura GalbusLaura is the daughter of Andrew and Holly Galbus and is a senior. She

has been involved in SEMYO Orchestra, band, jazz band, All State band, pep band, National Honor Society, youth group, and has been employed atthe Restoration House and Hubbell House. Laura believes that at a glanceMantorville is a quaint, beautiful town with lots of historic background. Sheloves it for the Zumbro River and all the times she has gone swimming, canoeing and fishing in it. She likes to hang out on Goat Island with herfriends and jump off the rope into the water. She enjoys reading the oldbooks in the Restoration House, but the most important thing that Lauraloves about Mantorville is the people. She believes the community pullstogether in good times and bad. People in the K-M community show up forplay-off games, grand march, and homecoming to support the happy timesand Laura believes it takes an even stronger community like Mantorville tohelp out during the event of a flood or death or other tough time. Recentlyshe was part of a mission trip to Chicago. She was uncertain about beingaway from home and whether or not she could handle the volunteer work.Early in the trip while singing and laughing on the van she realized it wouldbe a good trip. She made friends with people from the South Carolina groupand had the opportunity to get to know people from her own church better.Laura is happiest when other people are happy and she is with friends andfamily.
