DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS A VIOLENCE THAT TAKES PLACE IN THE HOME ESPECIALLY BETWEEN
HUSBAND & WIFE.

CAUSES OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
WHEN A PARTNER FEEL THE NEED TO CONTROL ANOTHER DUE TO:
1. LOW SELF ESTEEM2. EXTREME JEALOUSY3. DIFFICULTIES IN REGULATING ANGER.4. INFERIORITY COMPLEX
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE:
IT MEANS INTENTIONALLY USING PHYSICAL FORCE TO HARM, INJURY OR KILL SOMEONE
Eg:biting,choking,grabbing,burning,pushing, throwing……etc.
TYPES OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
SEXUAL VIOLENCE
IT INCLUDES HAVING SEX WITH SOMEONE WHO IS UNABLE TO REFUSE DUE TO DISABILITY OR
INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL.
IT MEANS TO USE ACT OR THREATS OF ACT TO CAUSE SOMEONE EMOTIONAL TRAUMA.
Eg:humiliation,diminishing or embarrassing the victim….etc.
EMOTIONAL ABUSE
SIGNS OF ABUSE
Individuals involved in ongoing abusive relationship are more likely to have multiple injuries and broken bones.
They have frequent doctor visits, headaches.
Common locations in women include the chest,head,breasts and arms.
During pregnancy the common locations are abdomen and the breasts.
SOLUTIONSVictims should always share
about the abusive relationship with their family or close friends.
They should ask for their support to fight against the violence.
Victims should make them understand the depth of the problem.
Say no to silence..!Stop domestic violence..!
