    RECAP: The Rainiers scored 5 runs in the top of the 8th inning as Tacoma came-from-behind todefeat Round Rock 8-6 on Wednesday night. The Rainiers trailed 6-3 when the rain hit in the

    middle of the sixth inning. After a 1 hour, 13 minute-rain delay the team rallied for the win. CFAbraham Almonte (1x5, R), 2B Ty Kelly (1x3, 2 R, 2 BB), 1B Rich Poythress (1x5, 2 RBI), LFStefen Romero (1x3, R, RBI, BB, SB), SS Carlos Triunfel (1x4, R) and 3B Leury Bonilla (1x4, R,SB) each recorded 1 of the teams 6 hits. StarterTom Wilhelmsen (1.2,2,3,3,3,0) allowed 3 runsin the first 2.0 innings, but did not figure into the decision. RH Brian Sweeney (1.1,2,0,0,0,1), RHHector Noesi (2.0,5,3,3,0,0), RH Chance Ruffin (3.0,1,0,0,0,4), LH Brian Moran (0.2,1,0,0,2,0)and RH Logan Bawcom (0.1,0,0,0,0,0) combined to allow 3 runs over 7.1 innings in relief. Ruffinearned his 1st win of the season with Tacoma, while Bawcom earned his 19th save after recordingthe final out in the 9th inning.

    REHAB ASSIGNMENT: OF Franklin Gutierrez began his 4th rehabilitation assignment withTacoma on Aug. 11. He went 0-for-3 with 1 run scored and 2 walks yesterday. Overall he is batting.217 (36x166) with 23 runs scored, 12 doubles, 3 home runs, 25 RBI, 13 walks and 4 stolen basesin 39 games with AAA Tacoma. Gutierrez was placed on the 15-day DL on J une 25 with a strainedright hamstring. He appeared in 2 games (J une 22-23) after being activated from the disabled list

    on J une 22. Gutierrez was on the disabled list from April 23-J une 21 with the same injury (righthamstring strain). Gutierrez was batting .267 (15x60) with 8 runs scored, 4 doubles, 5 home runs (3leadoff HR) and 11 RBI in 18 games (15 GS in CF) this season for Seattle. This is the 6th trip to theDL for Gutierrez since the start of the 2011 season.

    OF NOTE: INF Carlos Triunfel currently has a 10-game hit streak, batting .410 (16x39) with 8runs scored, 3 doubles, 3 RBI, 1 walk and 1 stolen base. Overall he is 3-with a 3.73 ERA (17 ER, 41.0 IP) in 8 starts with Tacoma. Walker is currently the youngest player in the PCL this season and 2nd-youngein Triple-A. He made his Triple-A debut vs. Fresno on J une 25 at Cheney Stadium (W, 6.0,3,0,0,2,4). Walker is the youngest Rainierspitcher to make his Triple-A debut since a 19-year-old Felix Hernandez on April 8, 2005 at Fresno.

    RECAP: The Mavericks scored 4 runs over the 7th and 8th innings to take a 5-3 lead, but allowed 3runs in the bottom of the 8th inning as High Desert lost to Rancho Cucamonga 5-6 on Wednesdaynight. Starter Cam Hobson (5.1,6,3,3,1,3) allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 5.1 innings, but did not figure

The 30 run fell short of the CaliforniaLeague record for most runs by one team in a game, as Fresno scored 34 against Ventura on May 23, 1947. The highest scoring game inCal League history took place at Stater Bros. Stadium on J une 28, 2009, with Lake Elsinore defeating High Desert 33-18.Since 2005, the Mavericks are the 6th minor league team to score at least 25 runs and record at least 30 hits in a game.
