WHY ?

From November 2006 until March 2007, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam organized the exhibition ‘Vincent

van Gogh and Expressionism’. This exhibition explored the influence of Van Gogh’s art on the German and Austrian expressionists at the beginning of the twentieth century.

QuA was asked to design an exhibition vignette, a visual identity and a series of communication carriers for the

exhibition. QuA was also asked to design graphic routing and textual information for the exhibition, in a concept that would

fit with the exhibition designed by Peter de Kimpe. Besides the design for the van Gogh Museum, QuA also developed

a set of communication carriers for the exhibition’s main sponsor, USG People.

The exhibition logo was designed as a wood-cut stamp with all information carved out of the white background. This logo

comes back as a stamp on almost every item
