WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11, 2014SHEEP AND LAMB AUCTION

STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING Compared to last week: Slaughter lambs were 3.00 – 8.00 lower on a very thin test and feeder lambs had no test. Slaughter ewes were 4.00 – 7.00 lower. Slaughter bucks were 1.00 higher. Kid goats traded 2.00 – 8.00 lower on a very thin test. Nannies/does traded steady. Bucks/billies and wethers were too thinly traded for an adequate market trend. Trade activity was moderate on moderate buyer demand. In the sheep supply 43% slaughter lambs and 8% feeder lambs, 55% slaughter ewes and bucks with the balance being replacement ewes. The goat supply consisted of 65% slaughter kids, 32% slaughter nannies, 3% slaughter billies and wethers. Sheep and lambs sold on a per cwt basis and goats sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted.

In spite of all the changes that are being made regarding slides, down payments, & commission charges with the different video companies, I want to bring our customers and potential customers up to date of what structure we are going to follow for our 2014 video year:

Commission will remain the same:Calves & Yearlings: $14.00 per Head Total, a non-

refundable filming fee of $4.00 will be collected at consignment followed by a $10.00 per head commission on shipping day. Call for commission on Bred Heifers & Cows

Down payments will remain the same:$40.00 will be collected from the buyer of which when

all the contracts have been signed, the entire $40.00 will be advanced to the seller.

Slides will be customized for each consignor:We are not making any mandatory changes to the

Base Weight Slides but would strongly recommend that we increase the slides from one to two cents per pound more than the previous years. Many of you have been loyal customers for many years, of which we have a history what your cattle weigh with some variance due to grass conditions and delivery dates. Another strong selling option to a potential buyer is putting a weight stop on, at a determined weight over the base weight.

Consignors:Buyers from Nebraska and many surrounding states

know that you have some of the finest Stockers & Feeders that are offered; let’s work together to assure our potential buyers that on delivery day when cattle are weighed, loaded, and shipped to their new location that the buyers will want to do business with us again next year.

Video Commission & Fees for 2014

We’re excited about the 2014 Western Video Market season and look forward to hearing from all of you again.
