Matins Gospel: Mark 16:1-8

Resurrection Hymn - Tone 1 While the stone was sealed by the Jews, and the soldiers were guarding Thy most pure body, Thou didst arise on the third day, O Savior, Granting life to the world. For which cause the heavenly powers cried aloud unto Thee, O Giver of Life, Glory to Thy Resurrection, O Christ, Glory to Thy Kingdom, Glory to Thy Providence, O Thou Who alone art the lover of mankind.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to

the Holy Spirit,

Hymn of Great Martyr George - Tone 4

Liberator of captives, defender of the poor, physician of the sick, and champion of kings, O trophy-bearer, Great Martyr George, intercede with Christ God that our souls be

saved.

now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Hymn of the Theotokos - Tone 1 As Gabriel cried unto thee: Hail, O Virgin, with his message, did the Lord of all become Incarnate in thee, O Holy Ark, as spoke the righteous David, And thou wast revealed as more spacious than the heavens in that thou bore thy Creator. Wherefore, glory to Him Who abode in thee! Glory to Him Who came from thee! Glory to Him Who through thy birth-giving hath set us free!

Prokeimenon in the 1st Tone (Ps 33)

Let Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us as we have set our hope on Thee!

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous! Praise befits the just!

Epistle: Romans 2:10-16

B RETHREN, glory and honor and peace for every one who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. For God shows no partial-

ity. All who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not the hear-ers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. When Gentiles who have not the law do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts, while their con-science also bears witness and their con-flicting thoughts accuse or perhaps ex-cuse them on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus. +

Alleluia in the 1st Tone (Ps 18)

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

God gives vengeance to me and subdues people under me!

He magnifies the salvation of the king, and deals mercifully with His Christ, with David and his seed forever!

Visitors We are happy that you joined us today, and we want you to know the following;

• Visitors and children are always welcome at all of our worship services.

• You won't be asked to do anything that would make you uncomfortable.

• We don't expect visitors to contribute anything financially to support our parish.

• Our children worship with us, and we love having them here.

If you are an Orthodox Christian, please introduce yourself to Fr. John before the ser-vice begins, so that, if possible, you may receive the Holy Mysteries of our Lord Jesus Christ.

If you are not an Orthodox Christian, we invite you to partake of the blessed bread dis-tributed at the end of the service, to fill out a “Welcome” card (available in the Nar-thex), and to join us after the service for some hospitality!

Gospel: Matthew 4:18-23

A T THAT TIME, as Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his

brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on from there he saw two other broth-ers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. Immediately they left their boat and their father, and followed him. And he went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every infirmity among the people.+
