Terminology

Register your organisationThose who are familiar with the proposal and negotiation submission forms know that in the past, participants had to provide to the Commission their legal and financial information every time they submit a proposal or negotiate a contract. To eliminate these redundant requests for information, we invite you to register your organisations data only once in the Unique Registration Facility (URF) which is hosted in the Participant Portal. The Participant Portal is an intuitive, user-friendly online platform which offers a consistent and coherent set of services in order to facilitate FP7 participants interactions with the Research Directorates-General of the European Commission. It is also a secure Internet site that ensures adequate authentication and confidentiality mechanisms. After the registration of your organisation, you will receive a Participant Identification Code (or PIC) which you will be able to use in all proposals submissions and negotiations. If you think your organisation already has registered in URF, check within the PIC section how to retrieve your organisation's PIC.An appointed representative of each organisation, called the Legal Entity Appointed Representative (or LEAR) maintains the legal & financial data via the Participant Portal so the organisation’s data is updated in the relevant IT systems.
