Circus-scape - A Hub Showcase PerformanceOne of the highlights of the year was the innovative showcase, Circus-scape. This was a commissioned musical composed by Hub Partners involving school-based workshops, culminating in a performance by over 500 young people from infant, primary and secondary schools.

The exhilarating showcase included performances from Hub Partners including Portsmouth University’s circus skills group, Portsmouth Chinese Association and one of the students on the Hub’s musically talented register, who performed ‘The Acrobat’ on trombone. The event provided an opportunity for students engaged in Arts Awards to get involved with the production and management aspects of the event.

One of the young singers summed up her experience:“This was the best night of my life. I loved the songs, I loved the circus acts and the music was brilliant. I was so proud to sing and perform in this fantastic show.” Ella, aged 9
