EN WHEN TO USE THEM Burners covered with metal fi-bre are used in extreme condi-tions: • very big burners (in dimen-sions).• high modulation with high CO2 level.• Flat burners or similar where thermal tensions are significant.• Radiant burners -applications where the heat is transmitted mainly by radiation, that is by direct transmission to the oppo-site surface.GENERAL FEATURES Metallic material with high oxidation resistance at high temperatures, made of fibres (Ø<50μm) by bundle drawing knitted in a mesh to release tensions.The material is produced with elements which form a protec-tive layer with high resistance and stability, so that the burner is extremely durable.CHARACTERISTICS OF POLIDORO FIBRE • Knitted fabric optimized re-garding pressure drops, perme-ability, support protection from heat and adequate flexibility when thermal voltage decreas-es as well as proper adherence to the support.• Metal mesh developed to solve noise problems.• Choice between different specific weights per unit of area based on the application.• Extremely uniform and ho-mogeneous product.• Chance to work together with the customer to decide on non-standard fibres with char-acteristics that would solve cer-tain technical and/or cost-relat-ed problems.

IT QUANDO SI USANOI bruciatori rivestiti con fibra metallica vengono impiegati per condizioni estreme quali: • bruciatori di grandi dimensioni.• modulazioni spinte con CO2 elevate.• bruciatori piani o simili ove le tensioni termiche sono import-anti.• bruciatori radianti-impieg-hi ove il calore si vuole venga trasmesso principalmente per irraggiamento quindi con tras-missione diretta alla superficie affacciata.CARATTERISTICHE GENERALI Materiale metallico ad elevata resistenza all’ossidazione alle alte temperature realizzato in fibra (Ø<50μm) tessuta in for-ma di maglia che garantisce il rilascio delle tensioni.Il materiale è realizzato con ele-menti che formano uno strato protettivo ad elevata resistenza e stabilità, consentendo una du-rata elevatissima del prodotto.CARATTERISTICHE DELLE FIB-RE POLIDORO• Tessitura in forma di mag-lia ottimizzata in relazione a perdite di carico, permeabilità, protezione termica del suppor-to ed adeguata flessibilità per rilassamento tensioni termiche e aderenza al supporto.• La maglia metallica è stata sviluppata in relazione alla riso-luzione di problemi di rumorosi-tà.• Scelta tra diversi pesi speci-fici per unità di area a seconda delle applicazioni.• Ottima uniformità e omoge-neità del prodotto.• Possibilità di collaborazione con il cliente per la definizione di fibre non-standard per la ri-soluzione di particolari proble-matiche tecniche e/o di costo.

EN Metal fibre burners work by surface combustion.At low specific thermal load, combustion occurs on the sur-face of the metal mesh and heat is transferred by radiation.The 3-D knitted structure of PO-LIDORO mesh has been devel-oped to assure the most efficient and uniform heat transfer while providing thermal protection of the metal support underneath, particularly when high thermal powers are involved.The mesh is made of FeCrAlloy providing an elevated resistance against oxidation at high tem-peratures and long durability.Combustion on metal fibre is very efficient with low NOx and CO emission levels.At high specific thermal load, metal fibre burners provide

compact and stable flames with excellent combustion perfor-mances.The metal fibre mesh can be ap-plied on burners with cylindrical, flat or complex geometries.Efficient adherence to the metal support and dimensional stabili-ty during operation is maintained over all the burner lifetime.The POLIDORO mesh has been selected to address noise prob-lems in boilers.The experience achieved in metal fibre design and choice gives us the possibility to offer a wide number of non-standard solutions.Different mesh structures can be evaluated in collaboration with our customers to meet technical and/or cost requirements.
