IEC Low Voltage Controlgear

DESIGN

Powell Electrical Group’s extensive range of products and services includes the in-house design and manufacturing of IEC switchgear and motor control centers, from its European factory in Bradford, U.K.

The Type 439 EuroCentre, designed to fulfill the requirements of IEC standards 60439-1 and IEC 61641, draws upon the latest technology and capability in base materials, precision mouldings and extruded parts to provide the user with the highest levels of operational safety, integrity and reliability.

FLEXIBILITY

Our commitment to ensuring the highest levels of operational safety and reliability is evident in all aspects of the Type 439 LV Switchgear design.

Riserbusbarsarehousedinacompletelysegregatedand insulated press-formed sheet steel enclosure. The riser busbars have been independently tested and certified to withstand a prospective short circuit current of80kAfor1second,176kApeak.

The integrity of the riser busbar chamber design is furtherenhancedbytheadditionofapadlockablehorizontalslidingshutterassemblyprovidingadegreeof protection of IP4X.

The plug-in connector is housed in an insulated moulding at the rear of a withdrawable functional unit whichoninsertioninterlockswiththeriserchamberfront moulding effectively precluding the initiation of arc faults at this point.
