1.

SCOPE

(1)This standard practice covers the preparation of piping drawing in "Plan and Detailed Drafting Method".

(2)This standard practice shall be applied in conjunction with PI-DM-001 "Drafting Practice of Piping Drawing (General)".Where there is any discrepancy between this practice and the spec above, this practice shall govern.

2.

DEFINITIONS2.1

Plan Drawing

"Plan Drawing" used in this practice refers to a plan drawn of an area defined and enclosed by the match lines corresponding to those indicated on the "Key Plan Drawing". The Piping plan drawings of this type are called "Coordinate Type Drawings".

2.2

Detail Drawing

(1)"Detail Drawing" refers to a partially detailed drawing used for indicating in a readily understandable manner details of a complex piping configuration that cannot be expressed clearly on a "Plan Drawing".

(2)Generally, "Detail Drawing" utilizes the isometric drafting method. However, in the case where a sectional or a side view drawing or scaled-up plan drawing is more effective any one of those may be utilized.

(3)Method of isometric drafting shall principally be as shown in fig. 2. However, where there is a great possibility that such indication would cause more confusion by overlapping of piping, etc., the drawing may be indicated as shown in fig. 3 which is symmetrical to fig. 2.

3.

FORMAT AND SCALE

(1)Format for a plan and detail drawing shall be Job standard form (ISO Size A - 0)

(2)The scale for drafting of piping plan drawings shall be as follows :

Process Unit :

1/60, 1/30, 1/25 or 1:33-1/3

Offsite and utility Unit :1/30, 1/50, 1/60, 1/100, 1/200, 1/25 or 1:33-1/3

4.

DRAWING LAYOUT

(1)A plan and detail drawing shall be indicated on one sheet as shown below. However if this would result in over one sheet, an additional sheet may be used for detail drawings.

(2)Plan and detail drawing may have "Key Plan" indicated at the upper right corner of the drawing sheet.

Fig. 4 Drawing Layout

Note:

Indication shall conform to PI-DM-101

4.1

Drafting Space

A plan and each detail drawing for piping shall principally be drafted in these spaces especially, for plan drawing, match line for sectioned area defined by key plan shall be kept inside of this space, however, the dimensions, drawing numbers of connecting piping drawing, structural column numbers and coordinations may be shown outside of this space.

4.2
