Quarter 3:

SPREADSHEET

Topic: Process and Delivery in

Spreadsheet

Timeframe: 40 Days

STAGE 1

Content Standard:

The learner demonstrates understanding of concepts and underlying principles of process and delivery in Spreadsheet.

Performance Standard:

The learner produces quality and marketable products/services derived from spreadsheet software.

Essential Understanding:

Creating a marketable product and/or service derived from Spreadsheet software is influenced by the needs and wants of consumers.

Essential Question/s:

How does one ensure the production of marketable product and/or render a quality service with Spreadsheet software?

Learners will know:

• Spreadsheet environment and its elements. • Function of the different spreadsheet icons • creating and saving a worksheet • Formatting texts and viewing worksheets • Applying theories and principles required when

- inserting and customize objects - manipulating data in a table - Manipulating the cell borders, charts, symbols,

headers and footers - using formulas and functions

Learners will be able to: • Customize the appearance of spreadsheet environment • Identify function of the different Spreadsheet icons. • Create and save files from Spreadsheet program. • Format texts and view Spreadsheet files. • Insert and apply appropriate changes to the objects • Applying changes on the data within the table. • Formatting cells, and customizing worksheet by adding headers and footers, and charts.

• Utilize available formulas and function in Spreadsheet program.

- utilizing shortcut keys - setting-up page and printing worksheet.

• Perform/apply the appropriate shortcut keys in the worksheet

• Apply margins, orientation, select paper size and print a worksheet.

STAGE 2

Evidence at the level of Product or Performance Task:

Understanding Performance

Production plan in Spreadsheet that applies the 4 M’s of production.

The learners should be able to demonstrate understanding on Spreadsheet by covering the (6) facets of understanding:

Describe the basics function of Spreadsheet software. Criteria

• Comprehensiveness • Clarity • Conciseness Provide an apt interpretation of a properly installed Spreadsheet applications. Criteria:

• Appropriateness • Meaningfulness • Significance

Apply the steps in creating a simple

Assessment of the production plan that applies the 4 M’s of production based on the following criteria:

• Adherence to the principles of 4 M’s of production

• Practicality and profitability of the product/service

• Completeness/comprehensiveness of the output.

document that relates with Spreadsheet applications. Criteria: • Appropriateness • Efficiency/effectiveness • Practicality See from the perspective of a data encoder the importance of a properly installed Spreadsheet software. Criteria:

• Appropriateness • Credibility • Sensitivity • Depth

Walk in the shoes of a beginner who is tasked to format a worksheet. Criteria: • Openness • Objectivity • Sensibility Self-evaluate your KSA’s to discover one’s limitations in operating the Spreadsheet software. Criteria:

• Reflective

STAGE 3

Teaching/Learning sequence:

Spreadsheet application is typically used to display, manipulate data and perform mathematical operations, it also provides data organization and analysis that enables the users to sort, extract and generate charts from Spreadsheet data. 1. EXPLORE

Orient the learners on the following: • CP-TLE framework – ICT I (Spreadsheet) – Quarter 3 • Content Standard:

The learner demonstrates understanding of concepts and underlying principles of process and delivery in Spreadsheet. • Performance Standard:

The learner produces quality and marketable products/services derived from spreadsheet software. • Essential Question:

How does one ensure the production of marketable product and/or render a quality service with Spreadsheet software?

• Assessment:

- at the level of understanding using the six facets of understanding - Explanation

- Interpretation - Application - Perspective - Empathy - Self-knowledge

- Assessment of the production plan that applies the 4 M’s of production based on the following criteria:

Adherence to the principles of 4 M’s of production Practicality and profitability of the product/service Completeness/comprehensiveness of the output.

Guide learners in taking a diagnostic test to identify their prior knowledge and skills using paper and pencil test. Guide learners in understanding the concepts and underlying principles of process and delivery in Spreadsheet. Provide pictures/video clips showing products processed from spreadsheet software. Process learners’ understanding on the observation made during the presentation of pictures/video clips. Guide learners in identifying basic Spreadsheet software used in the community, workplace, homes, and other

places and assist them in understanding the relevant features of the software. Assist learners in observing computer shops in the community producing products from spreadsheet software. Guide learners in viewing pictures/videos presentation of Spreadsheet software.

Let them answer the following questions: - What is the distinguishing feature/s of Spreadsheet software? - What are the products that can be produced from Spreadsheet software?

Encourage learners in raising issues and concerns related to spreadsheet software.

- Spreadsheet environment; - Saving files in different locations; - Formatting cells and worksheet; - Kinds of icons - Different formulas - Inserting and customizing objects on the spreadsheet;

Information and Communication Technology I

- Creating simple formula and utilizing available functions; - Setting-up a page; - Utilizing of a printer; and - The production of quality product and/or rendering quality service

Unlocking of difficulties and misunderstanding by asking leading question. Draw learner’s initial understanding by asking essential question: How does one ensure the production of

marketable product and/or render a quality service with Spreadsheet software?

2. FIRM-UP In order to firm up their understanding, guide learners in viewing video clips showing an actual process of

manipulating the program, formatting cells, columns and rows, inserting graphs and other objects, creating formula and utilization of available functions, setting up a page and printing worksheet. Lead them in answering the following questions:

- What are the ways on how to open a Spreadsheet program? - What are the ways on how to customize your Spreadsheet? - What are the available functions/formula in Spreadsheet and what are their uses?

Process learners’ understanding on the observation made during the presentation. Assist learners in manipulating the Spreadsheet program. Have learners identify the different parts and functions of Spreadsheet software window. Assist learners in identifying the tools used in Spreadsheet software. Assess learners’ understanding using formative evaluation. Have learners reflect on their learning, analyze what

and how they will use their understanding.

3. DEEPEN Invite successful Internet Café practitioner. Have learners ask questions on how they manage their business?

- What may be some of the strategic plans useful in the business? - Who are the usual clients in the business?

Encourage learner to ask question that will clarify certain issues.
