    Haiti Steering CommitteeTo build on the enthusiasm following our recent successful trip to haiti, and to continue

    our much needed efforts there, the Mission, Service and Benevolence ministry team is form-ing a haiti Steering Committee. This group will be a subcommittee of MSB, and will be tasked with managing the mission relationship with Medical Benevolence Foundation, our missions partner in haiti. Work to be done includes reviewing funding and mission propos-als related to haiti. They will then make their recommendations to MSB. In addition to oth-ers who may have an interest in haiti, it is our hope to engage many of you who have been to haiti already, so we can leverage your knowledge and insight.     Public Safety Training to be held at Eastminster, March 3The Department of Public Safety will be holding an officers Training at Eastminster on

    March 3, in Thompson hall, with the Attorney General in attendance. If you see many police cars parked around the church, dont panic; we are in good hands!

    Eastminster Day SchoolEastminster Day School, a ministry of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 3200 Trenholm

    Rd., Columbia, is accepting applications for a full-time director. The school has approxi-mately 200 students during the school year and approximately 160 during the summer months.     Coker College Chamber Singers at EPC March 8The Coker Chamber Singers, one of four choral ensembles at Coker College,

    will sing at Eastminster on March 8, during the 9:00 and 11:15 a.m. worship ser-vices in the sanctuary. This auditioned ensemble of fourteen to sixteen singers per-forms choral chamber works from all musical periods, conducted by Dr. William Carswell and staff accompanist Ronda Wilkes McElveen. The choir most recently toured in Washington, DC, and new York City.

    Adult Sunday School - March 8All Adult Sunday school classes are invited to hear Sarah Snapp, missionary to

    Bolivia, on Sunday, March 8, during the Sunday School hour in the Adult Re-ception hall. Sarah is the daughter of Eastminster members, Anne and Wendle Snapp. She serves as a teacher, and her sending agency is SIM, (Serving him in Mission).

    Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus Was a KidVacation Bible School for 2015, focusing on Jesus as a child, is

    Celebration of Faith March 14 - 15Eastminsters Celebration of Faith is March 14 & 15. The adult education

    speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Richard Boyce, Dean of Union Presbyterian Semi-nary at Charlotte, nC. Faith formation for youth will be lead by Dr. David olshine, Professor of Youth and Family at Columbia International University. There will be creative arts classes offered by Mr. Brian Maness of Memphis, Tn. Brian has taught stained glass classes at the annual recreation retreat in Mon-treat, many times. There are three sessions, with the first one held on Saturday afternoon. Sessions 2 and 3 will be on Sunday afternoon. We will end the event with a Family Celebration Meal on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. Please check out the class times and locations at www.eastminsterpres.org and sign up.

    Lenten Devotional ReadingsThe Lenten scripture reading this year will come from Rick Warrens book,

    40 Days of Community. Small Groups are using his book during Lent, and mem-bers are writing devotionals. If you are not in a small group, do not have a copy of the Rick Warren book, or are not receiving the daily EPC devotionals, there are pamphlets available with the scripture reading for each day in the narthex, in Jubilee on Sunday, and in the CLC. In addition, if you would like a copy of the book to read along, contact Julie (256-1654).

    Lily MemorialsThe Flower Guild is accepting memorials and honoraria for Easter lilies to

    decorate the sanctuary for Easter. Please write the wording you wish to have printed in the bulletin, and enclose a check for $20.00 made out to the Eastmin-ster Flower Guild for each lily. Checks may be mailed to the church or placed in the Flower Guild box in the workroom. Forms are available in the reception area. The deadline for your order is Friday, March 27. Lilies may be removed by the donor from the sanctuary after the 10:30 a.m. service on Easter.
