WELCOME
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Andy SkoogmanGreetings from the MCPA –
On behalf of the board, our members and staff, I want to thank you for your ongoing support of the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association. As many of you have experienced these past few years, MCPA has worked hard to breathe new energy into our annual Executive Training Institute and Law Enforcement Expo. We have increased benefits and created new opportunities for our private sector partners to share expertise
and generate more exposure. Once again, we saw more growth in both attendance and sponsorship in 2018. This was particularly true during our Sunday evening session, our City Leaders Day and the video livestreaming of some sessions through our new ChiefsCast feature.
ETI will continue to be the highlight on MCPA’s calendar each April. Our members rank face-to-face networking as the top reason they choose to attend and support the Minnesota Chiefs. The Law Enforcement Expo will return to St. Cloud next year from April 15 -16th.
New in 2019, the Expo will host both general sessions and lunches in the Expo hall each day guaranteeing everyone at the conference will get a chance to visit with our exhibitors. We’re also significantly reducing the total number of exhibit booths available, enhancing the attendee to vendor ratio which benefits both members and exhibitors alike, as well as providing higher satisfaction and return on your investment.
As we listen to feedback and do strategic planning, it is clear our members and partners are also looking for more ways to engage with Minnesota law enforcement throughout the year. That is why I am excited to announce we will offer Strategic Partnerships in 2019 for private sector companies that want to engage with our members throughout the year, beyond the three days of ETI.
As you review this prospectus, you will find new ways to tell your story and share expertise with our audience of dedicated public safety leaders.
Here are a few new highlights of the new Strategic Partnerships:
• Chiefs Annual Calendar: Strategic Partners will have an opportunity to speak and present at MCPA meetings, trainings and events throughout the year.
• Sponsored content in our New Chiefs Marketplace & ETI Guide: MCPA members look forward to the buyers’ guide released each year just before our ETI Conference. Next year we will expand the guide to include articles and profiles provided by our annual partners.
• Product Development/New Business Meetings: We want to provide you with an opportunity to get input on your existing product and/or learn what products police chiefs need. We will facilitate meetings with key law enforcement leaders to gather this important information.
Our MCPA board and ETI committee both began planning ETI 2019 earlier this summer. Each year I am impressed by the time and effort these members give to help ensure the conference and expo are the best they can be.
When you choose to support the Minnesota Chiefs, you are investing in an active organization run by local law enforcement leaders who care deeply and value immensely about improving the quality of public safety in Minnesota and maintaining strong private sector partnerships in communities large and small across the state.
Sincerely,
Andy SkoogmanExecutive Director, Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association
