We live in an interesting and challenging time when it

comes to worshiping God Itrsquos fair to say that people in our

culture are very self-focused and individualistic After all

the world revolves around us It is the job of ldquothe worldrdquo tofit itself into our lives And as a result we control what and

when worship fits and when it doesnrsquot The sad result is that

fewer and fewer people actually go to church gathering

with a body of other believers than in years past The idea

of a ldquovirtual churchrdquo has emerged that is the acceptance

of worship via internet or some electronic device in lieu

of being physically present with other followers of Christbecause it is more convenient to the individual schedule

But Christianity is not virtual One cannot be a virtual

Christian any more than Christ ldquovirtuallyrdquo died on the cross

It was real and physical Virtual worship is not a substitute

for the gathering of believers It is important to see pray

sing repent confess touch break bread and offer praiseto God with the Body of Christ Christian worship is not

something we watch from afar on a screen A body needs

all the parts to be present to be whole God made us to

fit into His body not Him to fit into ours at our discretion

Wersquore glad you are part of this Body of Christ this morning

the world revolves around us It is the job of ldquothe worldrdquo tofit itself into our lives And as a result we control what and

when worship fits and when it doesnrsquot The sad result is that

fewer and fewer people actually go to church gathering

with a body of other believers than in years past The idea

of a ldquovirtual churchrdquo has emerged that is the acceptance

of worship via internet or some electronic device in lieu

of being physically present with other followers of Christbecause it is more convenient to the individual schedule
