There are several rabbits at the Wildlife Waystation. Print the board and build the pawns in this project so you can have fun with Scrapes, Brown Stone, Squirley and Charlotte O’Hara!

v Print out the board template and glue it to a 12”12” textured cardstock page. Make sure it is somewhat centered.

v Printout the rabbit pawns. Then draw some grass with a green pencil between the legs of the rabbits.

v Cut out the rabbit pawns. Cut in between the two rectangles at the bottom of each rabbit.

v Fold the rabbits in two, so the same rabbit appears on each side. (See detailed illustration on page 5).

v Glue the two sides of the rabbit – BUT not the rectangles at the bottom of the pawns.

v Fold each rectangle outward, so it can be used as support when you place the rabbit on the board.

v To make the base of the rabbit pawns sturdier, glue the folded rectangles at the bottom of the rabbit pawns to a square piece of cardboard or to a large juice plastic bottle top.

v Check out the rules of the games and gather a couple of friends.

v You are now ready to play.

Once the pawns are printed out, fold each one in the center –following the red line as shown below. Paste the two sides to each other, then cut out the rabbit form. Make sure to keep the rectangles underneath the rabbits.

Your pawn will look like the illustrations below. Fold outwardly each rectangle and glue to a hard cardboard rectangle or even the round top of a juice bottle. This will make your pawn sturdy and it will stay on its feet while you play.

How Do I Play?

v You will need one dice, the board, the bunny pawns and up to three friends to play. v Choose the rabbit pawn you want to play with. v Put all the rabbit pawns on the START circle on the board. v Roll the dice and move your rabbit pawn based on the number of points you got. For

instance if you roll the dice and get a five, move the pawn five places on the board. The goal is for your rabbit to get to WINNER circle before the other rabbits. Now be careful,

If your pawn lands on one carrot, this is great! Carrots are full of vitamin C and give your bunny some energy. Your bunny hops one step ahead. Way to go!

If your pawn lands on two carrots, watch out! Your rabbit is a little glutton and now its stomach is so full, it has to rest. Lose a turn.

Bananas are a rare treat that bunnies do enjoy once in a while. This snack gives your bunny so much energy that it hops two steps ahead. You are getting closer and closer to Winner circle.

Your bunny likes to watch butterflies and sometimes gets distracted by them. So distracted that it has to hop back one step. Oh well!

Flowers are great. They smell and look different everywhere you go. Your bunny likes sniffing around and forgets that time is of the essence. Lose a turn.

The wolf is very scary. So scary that your bunny runs back to the START circle for shelter. Better safe than sorry.
