REIMAGINING EFFICIENCYAND HYDRATION

“It doesn’t matter if you have the best training in the world if it’s not supported with proper nutrition in terms of quality, quantity, and timing, your performance during the workout and following the triathlon will be compromised.”
“There are those crucial moments during the marathon that if my family is not there to pass off my special needs fuel, I worry. I haven’t yet found the carrier or pack to wear and support me during the marathon. I shove a lot in my underwear or shorts.”
“In a 70.3, you are in the water on average for a 25 mins to half an hour so there should be no refueling. I consume a few bloks before going into the water. I consume energy/electrolyte filled drinks on the bike around 250 cal/hr from drinks and bloks. The key is to drink enough liquid to digest the calories so this fuel is available for your body to use on the run.”
