Day 2: Nairobi to Lake Elementaita Leave the hustle and bustle of Nairobi city and travel to the small but beautiful soda ash lake located of the famous Great Rift Valley, named Lake Elementaita. Here you will have the opportunity to partake in a number of optional activities including bird watching, horse riding or a visit to the natural warm spa that flows into the lake. Two nights Sunbird Lodge (B,L,D) Day 3: Lake Elementaita visit Lake Nakuru Today you will have the opportunity to witness one of the greatest bird spectacles on earth. Lake Nakuru National park is world famous for the multitude of flamingoes which reside there due to the abundance of algae. In addition, Lake Nakuru National park also offers the largest concentrations of rhino (both black and white) to be found in Kenya. Return to Sunbird Lodge for sundowners and well-deserved meal. Day 4: Lake Elementaita to Masai Mara Proceed to the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. An on-route game drive through the reserve is sure to give you a taste of what’s to come in the next few days. Stay at the stunning and perfectly located Mara Simba Lodge, with an emphasis on exclusivity and comfort, it blends miraculously into the surrounding wilderness. Located overlooking a dramatic bend of a tributary of the Mara river and stretching almost a kilometer along the river. Three nights Mara Simba Lodge (B,L,D) Day 5: Masai Mara The Masai Mara also offers the seasonal awe inspiring annual wildebeest migration, which has been described as ‘the greatest wildlife show on earth’. Depending on the time of year, today will involve a drive down to the river or across the plains in search of the scores of wildebeest who gather here at certain times of the year, or admiring the resident game including the Big 5 which can be found all year round. Day 6: Masai Mara This morning, there is the opportunity to rise early and experience a game viewing adventure from an entirely different perspective! A hot air balloon safari across the Masai Mara which takes off in the crisp morning air, and lasts for approximately an hour. Upon landing a fully cooked champagne breakfast awaits. More game viewing opportunities arise later that morning en-route back to camp and in the afternoon. Day 7: Masai Mara to Nairobi Experience one last drive en-route to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi after breakfast. On arrival in Nairobi transfer to your hotel. Day 8: Nairobi to Mauritius Transfer to the airport for your flight to Mauritius where you will spend the next 5 nights relaxing at your beachfront resort.
