Remote Access to Kronos

Departments have expressed opposing concerns:

• If employees will have the ability to “punch in” via computers from home or other remote locations

• How do we prevent employees from “punching in” via computers from home or other remote locations

Team is in the process of researching options and understanding your business needs and concerns

• Some departments want the option to have On Call employees punch in via PC from remote locations instead of having to come into UNM offices

• Some departments have expressed concerns about employees having the ability to punch in from a remote location then come in to work

Adding employee Shift to Kronos and Banner

• Current state:– Banner defaults all employees to shift 1

– Time keeper manually enters shift “2”, “3”

Kronos Implementation Team has identified a field in Banner to capture shift information on employees

How will Banner capture shift information for employees?

New Earn Codes

• Several new earning codes will be established

• These will be utilized by both Banner time entry users & Kronos users

• Once these codes have been established, details will be communicated to campus

• Training and criteria for use of each code will be provided to departments

Rounding Decisions

• Full Shift Rounding

• Full-timers

– Automatic 30 minute meal after 6-7 hours unless the employee has already clocked in and out for lunch

– Ability to change the lunch period on a case-by-case basis including on a continuing long term basis.

• Part timers will be required to punch in and out for lunch
