At the end of the session, I should be able to :

1. Enter HYSYS environment

Fill a component list, including pure component and petroleum pseudo components

Choose the appropriate thermodynamic system (Equation of State + options)

Set up and personalize the unit system

2. Build the oil part of the PFD

Create a material stream from scratch or from existing stream (copy, set, balance)

Build a process with static equipments (vessel, valve)

Insert and set up rotating machines (pump & compressor)

Use the pipeline tool including the sizing option and understand its limit.

Adjust the export flow rate using a adjust loop

Optimize the multi flash separation using a case study and/or optimiser

Understand and achieve the oil export specifications

Simulate a real separator (carry over set up) and use the vessel sizing tool

3. Build the gas part of the PFD

Set up a compressor to recycle associated gas

Recycle condensate and understand how recycle work

Create a gas stream saturated with water (influence of thermodynamic model)

Use a component splitter to represent complex process

Understand and achieve the gas export specifications

Set up a spreadsheet to monitor HC dew point

4. NGL recovery

set up HYSYS environment and build PFD

Understand and set up the phase envelope utility

Set up a spreadsheet to evaluate NGL recovery

Build and configure a Heat exchanger (simple or realistic)

Run the Hydrate prevention utility

5. Fractionation unit

Set the operating pressure of the column

Use a shortcut distillation to select the number of trays

Implement a real fractionation column
