When Joshua led the nation of Israel into the Promised Land, God gave him one of the most famous instructions in the Bible. He was commanded to be strong and courageous.

“7 Only be strong and very courageous ... 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you

As we come into the new season that has been prophesied for Healing Rooms England & Wales, we are in a similar position. God has promised us that there is new land to be taken. We do not really know what this land looks like, but we have the promise of God that it will be good and that He is with us every step of the way.

Taking new territory does not mean that we change our values or our vision - the Israelites still had to abide by the Law of Moses when they came into the Promised Land. HREW will still function with the same values and vision that it always has done – to provide a safe space where anybody is welcome to come and receive the healing touch of Jesus Christ. organisation will stay where they have always been, rather than moving forward into the new things that God has clearly said that He has.

We want to encourage everybody involved in the Healing Rooms ministry:

Be strong and courageous! God is with us!

New Season It is remarkable how many things are changing spiritually in this country. For example, Soul

Survivor has announced that after over 25 years of summer festivals for youth, they feel God leading them to stop after the 2019 festivals because He is doing new things. Also, the European Leader’s Advance is believed to be ending in its current format this year. Around Europe there is a movement to take God outside the church – such as the recent Awakening Europe movement. Is God taking away ‘old wineskins’ and replacing them with new? (See Luke 5:33-39)

A prophetic word that we have been hearing again and again for the last year or so is that God is doing a new thing in Healing Rooms. Cal Pierce (Director of the International Association of Healing Rooms) has talked about this extensively regarding Healing Rooms internationally. IAHR have mentioned in a recent newsletter that they feel that the verse for this year is:

"Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

(Isaiah 43:19, AMPC)

At Healing Rooms England & Wales we are taking this prophetic word very seriously and are considering our response to it. At the National Conference in April, David ran a seminar on the future development of HREW, where delegates were invited to share ideas of how to develop the ministry further. Some of the ideas that people put forward included:

Better marketing of the ministry Use of social media The need to attract more young people and men into the ministry was mentioned and

social media may be a way to do this. It was discussed that since many churches now have their own healing teams, Healing

Rooms may wish to take steps to reach non-Christians while still supporting the local churches in their in-house healing ministries. This could involve the relocation of some Healing Rooms into marketplace scenarios and possibly mentoring and training local churches.

It became apparent at the seminar that many Healing Rooms’ teams have noticed that there is a shift in the type of prayer needs that guests are bringing. Less people are asking for prayer for physical healing and more are requesting prayer for emotional and relational problems. Some Healing Rooms have found that having a part of their team trained in inner healing has been invaluable. Sozo was mentioned as being particularly well suited to a Healing Rooms environment.

We believe that these are all signs of the new season that God is drawing us into and we are excited to see what more He has for us.

National Healing Rooms Conference 2018 Now that the headquarters of Healing Rooms England & Wales has been transferred to Congleton,

the National Conference 2018 was held at New Life Church, Congleton for the first time.

We were incredibly blessed to have Paul and Sue Manwaring at this year’s conference. Paul gave a series of powerful talks that greatly encouraged all who were in attendance. In particular they helped us as an organisation to see our ministry in the wider perspective of what God is doing around Europe and how the Healing Rooms movement is a crucial part of what God is doing on our continent.

We had the amazing opportunity to have a team from Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry include our conference as part of their mission trip to the UK. They provided prayer ministry at the end of each session and did prophetic booths for delegates who signed up to the afternoon slots.

Thanks are due to Paul Critchley, a local worship leader, and to Cath and Angus Music from Halifax who led the worship powerfully and brought the presence of God every session. Thanks are also due to the local Healing Rooms team in Congleton and Stoke and many other members of New Life Church, Congleton who volunteered as stewards, welcome team, teas and coffees, audio/visuals and helped in setting the church up for the conference and packing down afterwards.

DVDs of the Healing Rooms National Conference 2018 with Paul Manwaring are available from the HREW website. They are £20 per set, including all sessions with Paul, and the prophetic worship from the Friday evening. These are an excellent training resource for Healing Rooms teams.

Passing the Baton

As part of the official handover from Paul and Eve Clift to David and Veronica Mee as the new National Directors, Paul had a wooden baton made especially for the occasion. Paul spoke briefly about how he has ‘run’ his part of the journey and is now handing over Healing Rooms England & Wales to new leadership.

Paul and Eve then passed the wooden baton to David and Veronica as a symbol of the handover of authority that has taken place.

Paul and Eve and Peter and Beryl were given thank you gifts for the many years of service that they have given to the ministry. Healing Rooms England & Wales would not exist without Paul and Eve and they have put years of their lives into building it into what it is today. We are so grateful to them for the

amazing foundation that they, with Peter and Beryl, have laid, which we all continue to reap the benefits of.

The Year of the Peacock

During one of his talks, Paul Manwaring described a prophetic word about ‘the Year of the Peacock’. Ray Scorey (Regional Director) had been told by the Holy Spirit to bring a peacock card to the conference and hadn’t known why, which served to confirm that God was up to something.

After the conference, we at Head Office and our local team saw a huge number of confirmations of this word. This included:

Veronica found a peacock feather in her car that she had put there before the conference and forgotten about.

Myself and Veronica saw a peacock fly into a tree on the way home from Healing Rooms A member of our local team saw a white peacock in her church car park one Sunday

morning, and had no idea how it got there. Another member of our team who attends a historic Anglican church found a peacock

wandering round the graveyard of the church one Monday morning. There are countless times in the last few months that we have seen live peacocks,

pictures of peacocks, clothes with peacocks on, peacock cards, peacock place-names etc.

The word described peacocks as representing awakening, vision, watchfulness and royalty and how 2018 is the year that the peacock will take flight. If anyone has anything to add, please get in touch, as we are eager to hear from you about what you feel God is saying through this.

Pontypridd Healing Rooms Celebrates 10th Anniversary The team at the Healing Rooms in Pontypridd celebrated their 10th anniversary on 6th June.

Herbie and Alona Rees started the Healing Rooms after Alona was healed from cancer, when a friend suggested attending a Healing Room for prayer. She says she was always interested in healing ever since she was a small child.

The Healing Rooms in Pontypridd have been open in Coedpenmaen Church weekly since it was founded and have had many people come to receive prayer.

One lady came with stage 4 cancer, received prayer and felt the healing power of the Lord in her body almost straight away. She was healed completely and continues to testify that Jesus healed her, and through this testimony many have come for prayer. The lady subsequently joined the Healing Room team.

Herbie and Alona, now in their eighties, have served the Lord faithfully over the 10 years, and felt it was time to step back from the Healing Rooms ministry. There is sadness that the Healing Rooms in Pontypridd will no longer be open, but they and some of the team will continue to pray for those whom God sends their way, as we know there is no retirement in the kingdom!

European Divisional Directors There are three couples who look after the European nations which have Healing Rooms. In the photo, left to right they are: Victor and Antonia Bregger (Switzerland), Susanne and Markku Laitnen (Finland) and Eve and Paul Clift (England). Each couple looks after a particular region within the continent of Europe, but there are overlaps because relationship is more important than geography.

Susanne and Markku look after the Scandinavian countries as well as Poland and

Russia. Victor and Antonia look after Western European countries. Paul and Eve look after Eastern European countries. There are exceptions e.g. Paul and Eve look after Latvia and Malta. We stay in touch with each other during the year through Skype but there is nothing to replace being together. We aim to meet together once a year. This year we went to Spain and spent 4 days together in the house of Victor and Antonia in Denia, which is roughly halfway between Valencia and Alicante. There were times of prayer, times discussing the future of Healing Rooms in Europe, times sharing our problems, times of fun and just enjoying each other’s company. Many Christians are so influenced by the world that they cannot envisage any other form of structure other than hierarchical. There is no overall European Director, we honour each other, submit to each other and enjoy the different gifts and abilities that each of us bring to the group.

As a group we are exploring the formation of a European Association of Healing Rooms (EAHR) which would be based in Switzerland. There would be the need for an informal Advisory Board for EAHR giving wise counsel and being objective. This is all in the initial phases, so please pray for us as we need wisdom.

Each year we plan to bring together leaders from each nation together in what we call the European Healing Rooms National Leaders Retreat. For several years this was held in Finland and then in Sweden. Last year it was held in Ukraine at a resort on the Kiev Sea called Glebovka, which is just over a 1 hour drive north of Kiev. It is important that leaders receive encouragement, support and prayer because many of them are not as blessed as we are here in the UK.

Some have difficulties because their governments have many restrictions on Christianity. Many nations have an established church whether protestant, orthodox or catholic and to introduce something called Healing Rooms which brings the body of Christ together working as a team is completely outside of their thinking and can be regarded as very suspicious. The Healing Rooms leaders in these nations are true pioneers because they have caught the vision and will not be put off by anything. It is such a privilege and challenge meeting Christians from nations who appear on Open Doors persecuted top 50 list.

We would like to thank all of you who have invested in Healing Rooms in poorer nations through the conference offering. You are helping to support and bless these leaders, enabling them to be part of

this gathering. Sometimes we have also invested in churches in poorer nations, who themselves are poor, but who want to serve those in their nation who are on the poverty line and basically have nothing.

We hope to bring you a more detailed report of what is happening in some of the nations for which we are responsible in another newsletter.

Many Blessings Paul and Eve Clift IAHR Divisional Directors UK and Europe South East
