VOC is one of the major reasons of Smog. VOCs play a significant role in the formation of ozone and fine particulates (PM) in the atmosphere. Under sunlight, VOCs react with nitrogen oxides emitted e.g. from vehicles and industrial activities to form ozone, which in turn helps the formation of fine particulates. The accumulation of ozone, VOCs, fine particulates and other gaseous pollutants results in Smog.

VOCs are emitted both outdoors and inside. They can cause eye, nose, and throat irritation as well as headaches, loss of coordination, and nausea. They may also cause damage to the liver, kidney, and central nervous system. Some are suspected or known to cause cancer.

Most people don't find out they've been exposed to toxic air until it's too late.

The sensors inside Atmotube react to over 200 different Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), including:

Formaldehyde, Benzene, Acetone, Propane, Toluene, Methylene chloride, Xylene, VOCs in Smoke, D-Limonene, a-Pinene, Acetaldehyde, Hexanal, Ethylene glycol, 1, 3-butadiene, Vinyl acetate, Acetylene dichloride, Acrylyl chloride, Methyl chloroform, and many others.

Atmotube detects presence of Carbon Monoxide (CO) and can be used as a CO2 equivalent sensor to represent CO2 levels in real world environments, where the main cause of VOCs is from humans.

Atmotube even reacts to Mold. The chemical reactions of enzymes, substrates and mold growth produce carbon dioxide, water, and VOCs. Atmotube will detect these "results" of mold growth.

Serial entrepreneur, inventor, passionate leader with a long track record of successful management. CEO and co-founder of NotAnotherOne. Before Atmotube she launched several HW and SW products, including wearable platform GERO. Vera was one of the inventors and led the development of world’s first dual-screen smartphone YotaPhone, which won a lot of international innovation awards and prices and is now selling worldwide. Worked in Motorola Mobility division on smartphones for biggest mobile carriers. A graduate of St. Petersburg State Technical University in Russia with degrees in computer science and CAD and ERP systems, during her studies Vera worked on several research and development projects in the field of automation and optimization of technological processes.

Co-founded and launched a number of hardware startups, at the moment CDO and co-founder of NotAnotherOne.

Igor was leading mechanical design, UX design and design language development for Yotaphone, Portable Routers and Modems at Yota (biggest Russian LTE operator). Created branding, UX and UI solutions for Yota devices, Yota, PSD2HTML and OUTLINE2DESIGN.

Igor’s passion lies in creating outstanding and breakthrough projects that improve ordinary things and shift user experience from mass-oriented to a user-centric approach.

Dmitry has more than 12 years experience in software development, technical leadership and software architecture.
