Team Members,

Now that summer has arrived and the pace of our business begins to change just a bit, let’s focus even more intently on the delivery of truly great guest service. There will be opportunities for all of us to experience wonderful interactions and greater dialogue with our guests. Take advantage of this extra time to create meaningful and memorable exchanges with our guests, and with each other. What a great time to enjoy our guests and our team members, and to reinforce the relationships that we have developed.

The summer months are another chance for us to shine. Let’s take advantage of the extra time that we may have to focus on our loyal players who live here throughout the year. These are the guests that you see more frequently, and who will really appreciate your recognition and extra attention. Have fun, and do enjoy this opportunity to entertain and “wow” our guests. What a wonderful chance to showcase our Enterprise once again as the best entertainment experience in the valley!

Sincerely,Janice Ponziani

From the inception of the intranet at Gila River Casinos, it has always been our goal to make the site user friendly and relevant for our team members. The site was created to provide important updates and information about the Enterprise in one convenient place while creating a virtual community. In staying true to this philosophy, team members can now access Team Works from home and on mobile devices. Remote access now gives team members the ability to check training opportunities, benefits information, current volunteer events and so much more from any location they choose.

To access Team Works, type http://teamworks.wingilariver.com/ into your browser. You will be prompted to verify your employment by entering your last name and badge number which will allow you to create your personal username and password.

The human body is made up of about 70% water. A dehydration headache can occur as the result of excessive loss of water from the body when we lose more water than we take in. To avoid these kinds of ailments, make it a point to drink plenty of water during the hot Arizona summer months.

Symptoms of Dehydration: • Headache • Excessive thirst • Fatigue • Dizziness • Confusion • Increased heart rate and respiration • Less frequent need to urinate

Steps to prevent dehydration: • Drink plenty of water • Eat foods that contain a high concentration of water such as fruit • Sports drinks can help maintain electrolyte balance • Plan all outside activities in cooler parts of the day

In 2011, the Gila River Telecommunications, Incorporated (GRTI), filed for seven low power television licenses with the Federal Communications Commission. In 2012, construction permits were granted. Today, Gila River

Broadcasting is the first low power television station operating in Indian Country with both English and O’odham language programming. The Community identified a need for culturally relevant programming that was not available. Now that this vision has come to fruition, the first program was aired over high definition channels 19 KGRF (Maricopa Village), 21 KGRY (Blackwater), and 29 KGRQ (Stotonic). Local TV audiences can look to GRBC for cultural programming, language, public safety, education, health and wellness, news, and children's programming. The station’s goal is to eventually produce local O’odham content by and for the People.
