YAD SARAH FOUNDATION

Yad Sarah is one of the largest voluntarily association in Israel.

The largest branch of Yad Sarah is located in Jerusalem.

Yad Sarah`s best-known service is the lending of medical and rehabilitative equipment on a short-term basis free of charge to anyone who needs it - from a stock of over 250,000 items, from crutches and wheelchairs to oxygen concentrators and electronic monitors.

Yad Sarah has more than 6,000 volunteers of all ages in more than a hundred branches all over Israel.

The association first started out when Michal and Uri Lupolianski bought multiple inhalers to lend them to their neighbors.

YAD SARAH ORGANIZATION IN RISHON LETZIYONWhen we first came to the organization, a methard-working volunteer named Naomi. She told us that this organization has no paid employees at all and all the stuff here is working voluntarily. Anyone can come and ask for help for free.

HOW THE ORGANIZATION FINANCES ITS OPERATIONS? Yad Sarah’s annual operating budget is

financed almost completely by donations, over 70 percent of which are raised within Israel. No ongoing government assistance is received.

One out of two Israeli families has been helped by Yad Sarah. Over 380,000 Israelis use its services yearly.

TO WHOME HELP YAD SARAH ORGANIZATION? For different disabilities such as paralysis,

fractures in different places, impaired movement, dysfunction hands and visual function.

IN ADDITION:Yad Sarah provides a wide range of other

services, including: transportation and day care centers for the

disabled, drop-in centers and minimum-charge dental

clinics for the elderly, personal computerized emergency alarms

monitored 24 hours a day and guidance/exhibition centers which help

disabled people choose the assistive devices most suited to their needs.

CONCLUSIONIn this work we discovered amazing people who are interested in others and greatly contribute to Israeli society by trying to help people in serious conditions. Through this study we found out that civil society can have a great contributing for the welfare of the person. We also discovered that in our country there are people who consider others and not just themselves. We enjoyed doing this work and we have learned a lot.
