COLLABORATION
Creating Norms:o An understanding that the work
we do together is to analyze and improve classroom practice and learning.
o Participation interaction can accommodate for potential distractions and ensure that the investment of time is worthwhile.
o Establishing norms can help to overcome a fear that data will be used to criticize or evaluate instruction.
Shared personal practice with peers in a formalized setting with the intent to improve and change practice is an essential part of collaboration.

In Mentor-Protégé teams read the “Consultant” section of the mentorship handbook individually, stopping after each section
Take turns summarizing each section
At each stop and summary point, partners co-develop examples (how could you actually put this into practice?) that illustrate their understanding of the text
COACH
FIRST WORD- LAST WORD
Using a highlighter from your table, highlight words or phrases that you believe are important.
In your table group, the first person shares their word or phrase. Going clockwise, the next person comments on the word or phrase just described, and so on around the table. The person who initially shared the word or phrase gets to make the last comment.
Complete this process for all table group members.
