Key Points on the Pastor’s Meal (Month 3)

Key Points on Make Our Church like Heaven on Earth (Month 4)

1. To make our church like heaven on earth for all to see and feel.2. Give preferential treatment the lost and un-churched.3. Provide parking near the front door for these4. To have outside and inside greeters making these feel welcome

• Make sure to get visitors names through registrations, gift cards, host and hostesses, visitors cards

• Map out route to visitors from church for gift delivery

• Have a volunteer to phone visitors inviting them to Pastor’s meal

• Organize deacon contact to visitors.

Vision

• “When the queen of Sheba saw all the Wisdom of Solomon and the palace he had built, 5 the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, his cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the LORD, she was overwhelmed. 6 She said to the king, "The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true.” I Kings 10:4-6

So how the ushers dressed mattered? How the building looked mattered? How the banquet was presented mattered?

= Shock and Awe

Team StructureThe Shock and Awe Team is comprised of the five-fold ministry team leaders, a secretary and many sub-team leaders. The five-fold main team leaders are:• Administrator• Teacher/Trainer• Prophet (Fellowship/Prayer Coordinator)• Evangelist (Outreach Coordinator)• Pastoral Care

Team Administrator

Principle Function: Provides leadership and administration to the team. He/she is a good manager with a pulse on the future goals, plans and needs of the team.

Spiritual Gift: Administration and, if possible, the secondary gift of Encouragement

Responsible to: Pastor and/or Executive Administrator

Time Commitment: One Year

Arrive 1 hour before service begins to oversee instruments and equipment are ready to be properly set-up for service.

Team Administrator Responsibilities:

1. Appoint other team leaders

With the approval of the Pastor: a secretary, Prophet (Fellowship Coordinator), Evangelist (Outreach Coordinator) and Pastoral Care Person.

2. Recruit and coordinate schedule of creative team, set-up crew, audio team, lighting team, LCD projection/ computer team, camera crew, and video production team.

3. Organize and provide equipment for services and events

Have Secretary regularly check all necessary equipment remains in good working order and coordinates with the Administrator when items need to be replaced.

4. Be able to perform all duties of each position, if needed.

5. Oversee budget and expenditures for the team.

6. Be a leader with whom the group is comfortable and trusts. Be a leader that leads with love and caring rather than being a drill sergeant in the army.

7. Listen for complaints from within the team. Make every effort to maintain unity within the team.

8. Give your Teacher/Trainer 24 hours’ notice if you are going to be absent due to illness and make sure they understand your job role and duties.

Team Teacher/Trainer

Principle Function: Provide leadership for team as well as train and recruit new members for the team.

Spiritual Gift: Teaching and, if possible, the secondary gifts of Encouragement or Administration

Responsible to: Team Administrator

Time Commitment: One Year

Should arrive 45 minutes before service to walk new trainees through their job duties. Afterwards, be available and approachable for any questions or concerns.

Team Teacher/Trainer Responsibilities:

1. Be familiar with the team philosophy of ministry and vision.

2. Interview people who have completed the Spiritual Gift test and training to determine where they would best serve.

Administrator, Fellowship Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator, Pastoral Care Person, Secretary, Creative and Product. Other technical positions will need to be trained by an individual with the technical expertise and experience, if the Teacher/ Trainer is not knowledgeable yet.

4. Maintain a good knowledge of the job descriptions and responsibilities so you are ready to train a new person at any time.

5. Be able to perform all duties of each position, if needed.

6. Constantly encourage and help your trainees.

Additional Responsibilities:

Pay close attention to the Pastor when he is training you. Remember you are responsible for training new people to carry out their job duties the way the Pastor wants it done, not how you think it should be.

Give the Administrator a minimum of 24 hours’ notice if you cannot make it to service due to illness. Have an understanding of the Administrators duties so that you can fill in, if the Administrator is sick.

Team Teacher/Trainer

Prophet (Fellowship/Prayer Coordinator): To ensure fellowship, prayer and fun within the team.

Evangelist (Outreach Coordinator): Provide motivation and compassion for their team members and individuals within the church body to help recruit new team members Pastoral Care:To oversee prayer for the spiritual wellbeing of the team and its members by sometimes counseling and encourage through phone calls and visiting, if needed.

Secretary:

Responsible for assisting the Administrator with organizing schedules, maintain budgets, team member information, equipment and coordinating with church pastoral/office staff.

Sub-Teams

The Shock and Awe Team is comprised of eight to ten sub-teams. Additional teams can be added by the Administrator as needed, in coordination with the Pastor.

Principle Function: Helps the services connect with unbelievers/unchurched in the areas of ambience, production and presentation. This includes décor, lighting, sound, video, announcements, drama, and music.

Spiritual Gift: Helps/Service

Responsible to: Team Administrator

Time Commitment: One Year

Should arrive 30 minutes before servicefor team meeting and prayer.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with the Pastor and meet regularly to plan creative elements to upcoming services and events.

2. Strategize video, music, and lighting ideas that supports the Pastor’s sermon and coordinating with other sub-teams.

3. Propose ballet, drama or dance to add extra features to the service on occasion.

4. Plan an organize props or stage design elements that will enhance the service and/or sermon.

5. Design/purchase banners or decorative elements to enhance the building and meeting facility.

6. Ensuring visitors and attendees are properly directed through the building with directional signs and banners.

7. Make a list of supplies needed along with the projected cost and give to the Secretary or Administrator for approved funding.

8. Coordinate with the Secretary to check out supplies (i.e. banners, scissors, hammer/nails, Christmas décor.)

Dance/Drama Team

The Creative Team is also responsible for coordinating creative plans and needs with the Dance and Drama Team for services/events.

Responsibilities: 1. Participate in training sessions and planning meetings with

Creative Team, when needed.2. Study scripts and practice for upcoming skits or major

drama/dance presentations.3. Meet with your team to rehearse your performance. 4. Be on time (or early), and do your best in performances as unto

the Lord. If you are so ill you will not be able to perform, call your team coordinator or director immediately.

5. Before every performance, pray for God’s anointing on the participants and for His Holy Spirit to prepare the hearts of those who will see and hear the performance.

Set-Up Crew

Principle Function: Ensure the building and facilities are set-up to provide a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for visitors and guests.

Spiritual Gift: Helps/Service

Responsible to: Team Administrator

Time Commitment: One Year

Set-Up Crew Responsibilities:

1. Check with the team Administrator to find out your service set-up responsibilities.

2. Be a good steward of church furniture, equipment and facilities to help present a positive physical appearance to the community.

3. Sweep/Vacuum the floors, if needed.

4. Set-up and take down chairs/partitions as needed for weekly services, meetings and special events.

5. Coordinate with the Sock and Awe Secretary or Administrator any equipment or furniture that needs to be replaced or repaired.

Sound/Audio Team

Principle Function: Responsible for maintaining a good sound through the audio equipment available for the music ministry and Pastor.

Spiritual Gift: Helps/Service with a talent in music

Responsible to: Team Administrator

Time Commitment: One Year

Should arrive 45 minutes before to set-up and prepare for the service/event.

Lighting Team Principle Function: Creating a dramatic atmosphere for services and events through lighting.

Spiritual Gift: Helps/Service with interest in lighting

Responsible to: Team Administrator

Time Commitment: One YearShould arrive 45 minutes before to set-up and prepare for the service/event.

Responsibilities: 1. Make sure the lighting related equipment is connected properly

and in good working condition.2. Coordinating with the Creative Team to plan and set-up lighting

cues for a service or event.

3. At the end of the service, make sure “all” equipment is shut down, turned off and properly secured.

4. Arrive at worship practices and services at least 30 minutes before required to have equipment ready.

5. Notify the team Secretary or Administrator of any equipment that needs to be repaired or replaced.

6. Stay up-to-date on the latest available equipment.

Camera Crew

Principle Function: Record and archive worship services, special events and other components on to video.

Spiritual Gift: Helps/Service with interest in cameras

Responsible to: Team Administrator

Time Commitment: One YearShould arrive 45 minutes before to set-up and prepare for the service/event.

Camera Crew Responsibilities:

1. Arrive at all worship services 30 minutes before to have equipment prepared for the start of service.

2. Video all service as requested by the Pastor and Creative Team to be transmitted on TV, web and DVD, etc.

3. Worship in such a way that draws the congregation into worshiping God and does not distract.

4. Dress professionally.

5. Work with the Video production team to plan and shoot video footage for special announcements and footage.

6. Make sure all video tape is properly labeled at the end of service.

7. At the end of service, make sure all equipment is shut down, turned off and secured.

Video Production Crew

Principle Function: Create, edit and archive worship services, special events and commercials and service elements for use in services or to promote events. Spiritual Gift: Helps/Service with interest in video

Responsible to: Team Administrator

Should arrive 45 minutes before to set-up and prepare for the service/event.

Video Production Crew Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with the Creative Team to prepare a script and shooting schedule for footage. Check weather reports and location requirements before scheduling shoot.

2. Plan and shoot, with assistance from Camera Crew, video footage for special announcements and sermon elements.

3. Assist in organizing and administrating the cast shoots.

4. Edit and create video elements to enhance services and events.

5. Make sure all video tape is properly labeled and archived at the completion of each project.

6. Switch incoming camera crew video live during services and special events for DVD mastering.

7. Create DVD copies as requested by the Product Team for orders.

8. At the end of service, make sure all equipment is shut down, turned off and secured.

LDC Projection/Computer Team

Principle Function: To enhance the service/event by providing visual elements through the use of projection.

Spiritual Gift: Helps/Service with interest in computers.

Responsible to: Team Administrator

Time Commitment: One Year

Should arrive 45 minutes before to set-up and prepare for the service/event.

LDC Projection/Computer Team Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with the Creative Team to Creative Designer to prepare visually pleasing imagery for service elements.

2. Come to worship practices and services 30 minutes before to ensure the proper equipment is set-up, ready and in focus.

3. Type out words for new songs into the computer system for display during worship.

4. Make sure you have the order of service. Must know which elements to project, at the right time, during the service and have everything cued to eliminate dead time.

5. Keep all equipment in good working order and inform the Secretary or the Administrator when anything needs repair or replacement.

6. At the end of service, make sure all equipment is shut down, turned off and properly secured.

Product Team

Principle Function: To provide visitors and attendees with state-of-the art audio and video products of services and events.

Spiritual Gift: Helps/Service with interest in computers

Responsible to: Team Administrator

Time Commitment: One Year

Should arrive 45 minutes before to set-up and prepare for the service/event.

Product Tea Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with the Creative Designer to prepare visually pleasing packaging and marketing for products.

2. Arrive at services 30 minutes before to ensure the proper equipment is set-up and product is displayed for sale.

3. Make all duplications of audio and video CDs and DVDs for sale after services and special events.

4. Take orders for series sets and other products, if needed.

5. Coordinate with the Audio Team Leader to receive the master CDs/DVDs for duplication.

6. Ensure the Product Center has an appropriate amount of change for cash transactions. Turn all monies into the Treasurer.

7. Prepare CD labels and packaging before service or event in preparation for duplication.

8. Provide staff members working during sermon with an audio CD of the message.

9. Have an organized and effective way of archiving old messages and events for easy retrieval.
