Teleporting

Minecraft is meant to be played as a group, and with a map that spans infinitely it can be hard to find your friends. Teleporting gives the player the ability to teleport to another player instantly. This can be done in 2 different ways; If you want to teleport to another player use the /tpa [playername], or if you want to teleport another player to you use /tpahere [playername]. The player that receives the teleportation request must use /tpaccept to accept the request, or they may deny the request by using /tpdeny. If you don’t want to be bothered by other players you can use /tptoggle to automatically reject teleportation requests. Finally if you are unable to send a teleportation request use /tpacancel to flush your teleport request Que.

Commands for players

/tpa [playername] --- Sends a request to teleport to a player

/tpahere [playername] --- Teleports a player to you

/tpaccept --- accepts a teleportation request

/tpdeny --- denies a teleportation request

/tptoggle --- prevents players from sending you requests

/tpacancel --- Cancels all teleportation requests

Commands for Admins & Mods

Back

Teleporting around a lot can be a pain sometimes, as you may not want to lose where you are within a cave or you might be in some part of the world you think is interesting when someone sends you a teleport request or if you need quickly get back to your home. A player can use /back to go back to the last location before you teleported. This command can be finicky at times and may not bring you back where you expected.

Commands for players

/back --- Brings you back

Economy.

Money talks. Sometimes players may not want to trade items for items but might would rather be paid money for their items instead. By default all players are given $3,000. Players may check their balance anytime by using /bal. Money can be made in many different ways which will be listed further in this tutorial. If you wish to pay someone you may use the command /pay [playername] [amount] to pay the player money. You can also sell certain items directly to the server using the /sell command.

Chatting in the server is pretty basic but sometimes you don’t want the entire world to see your conversations. Many of the plugins in the server contain their own version of a private chat, generally meant for a specific purpose. Essentials gives you the ability send private messages and private mail. To start a new private conversation you would use the command /msg [playername]. After a player

receives a message they may use either /r or /msg [playername] to reply to the message. /r only replies to the last person who sent you a message. If the person you want to send a message to and they are not online you can use the /mail send [toperson] [message] and they will receive the message the next time they sign into the server. As you progress through the ranks you will unlock the ability to use color in your chat as well as “special effects.”

Plugin: Towny

Towny gives you the ability to start your own town. When a town is created it will protect the region within a 16x16 region, the region expands 100% vertically. They mayor, usually the person who started the town, can invite friends to join the town, expand the town, buy and sell plots as well. If two towns or more were to get into a disagreement they may go to war with each other. During a war a town can be destroyed.

How to use Towny

1. Starting a town

To start a town you first must find a chunk to start your town in. In order to see chunks press F3+G. If done correctly you should see a yellow grid acting as the border of the chunk you are standing in. If you are happy with the chunk you are standing in and want your town to start inside that chunk use this command, /town new [townname] . You will become mayor of the town upon creation.

Page 6: tscgaming.org  · Web view[TSC] is an RPG server and as such the server has quests the player can perform. Quests are tasks given to the player that can reward the player with XP,

2. Taxes

When you create a town you need to pay taxes. In order to pay taxes you need to deposit money into your town’s bank. In order to do this use the command /town deposit [amount]. If you want to see the prices that it costs to start and upkeep a town use the command /towny prices. If taxes are not paid you’re town will lose its protection and can be destroyed by other players.

How do you get your residents to help pay for the town? You as the mayor can set daily taxes. Use the command /town set taxes [dailytax]. If one of your residents can’t afford the tax they will be removed from your town automatically.

3. Inviting players to your town

Obviously you can’t have a town without residents, as the mayor you can invite your friends to your town very simply using /town add [player]. The player will get a request to join the town. The recipient of the request must use the command /Taccept to accept and /Tdeny to deny the request. Alternatively if you have a bad player in your town, you can use /town kick [player] to remove them from your town, use the command /town kick [player]

4. Town permissions

As the mayor of your town you can set the permissions within your town. Permissions are what determine what your residents can do within your town’s borders. Permissions in towny are divided into 3 sections, permissions for the entire town as a hole, permissions for a specific plot, and then permissions a resident themselves can place. Each of these have 3 different categories r, a, and o.

Page 7: tscgaming.org  · Web view[TSC] is an RPG server and as such the server has quests the player can perform. Quests are tasks given to the player that can reward the player with XP,

r = friend/resident, resident is used for town permissions friend is used for plot permissions.

a = ally, if your town is part of a nation, this category sets what your town’s allies can do in your town or plot

o = outsider, this category applies to people that don’t belong to your town or nation, only applies to town permissions

By default the town uses these permissions, Build = r--, Destroy = r--, Switch = r—Item = r Explosions off, Fires pread off, Mob Spawn off, and pvp on. You can views these at any time by using the command /town. So by default only residents of your town can build, destroy, use a switch, and use items within your towns boundaries, as well as explosions, fire spread, and mob spawning is disabled. If you are a mayor and to change a permissions you can by using the command /town set perm [category] [permission] [on/off]. For example

/town set perm resident build off --- using this command will prevent a resident from building.

You can also change permissions on a per plot/chunk basis. You can do so by going to the plot you want to change the permission off you would use the same command as you would for the town except replace town with plot. So you would use the command /plot set perm [category] [permission] [on/off]. For example

/plot set perm resident destroy off --- this would set the permission for the only the plot you are standing in.

Now what if you’re a resident and own a plot within the town and want to set permissions within a plot you own? You as a land owner can do that by using the same commands as with town and plot but this time you will use resident instead. /resident set perm [category] [permission] [on/off]. Mayors will bypass your permissions. But as a resident r a o is a little bit different. R is for friends, allies is for other residents and o does not get used.

/resident set perm resident destroy off

5. Friends.

As a resident you can create a friends list. Friends are used to give your friends certain permissions while on a plot of land that you own. Friends can be someone from your town or an outsider. People on your friends list will override the town’s outsider permissions while they are on a plot that you allow your friends to have permission to. To add a friend use the command /resident friend add [player], if the player is offline use /resident friend add+ [player]. If you want to remove a friend from your friend list, use the command /resident friend remove [player], if the player you want to remove is offline use the command command /resident friend remove+ [player]. You can also remove everyone from your friends list by using the command /resident friend clearlist. There is currently no way to see your friends list so try and keep track and be careful.

Page 8: tscgaming.org  · Web view[TSC] is an RPG server and as such the server has quests the player can perform. Quests are tasks given to the player that can reward the player with XP,

Commands for players

/resident friend add [player] --- adds an online player to your friends list.

/resident friend add+ [player] --- adds an offline player to your friends list.

/resident friend remove [player] --- removes an online player from your friends list

/resident friend remove+ [player] --- removes an offline player from your friends list

/resident friend clearlist --- removes all players from your friends list.

6. Ranks

Ranks in towny are a form of hierarchy within your town. The available ranks are assistant, helper, vip & sherrif. Each one has their own special permissions within the town

Assistants --- Are tax exempted, can claim land for the town, add players to the town, and use any of the /plot commands, can toggle the towns public status, grant other residents the VIP rank, Grant other residents to the helper rank. If an assistant kills an outlaw they will be sent to the town’s jail.

Helper --- Gives the user the ability to use all switches within the town.

VIP --- User can fly within the town

Sheriff --- can send a resident to jail and when killing out laws they will be sent to jail

To give a resident a rank in your town use the command /town rank add [resident] prank]

Commands for players

/town rank add [resident] [rank]

7. Expanding your town

When you start your town your town is only 1 chunk. One chunk is only 16x16, which isn’t that large and you will outgrow it very quickly. By default a town with 1 resident you can claim up to 4 plots. Every additional player will add 4 more. You can also purchase more town blocks if you run out of available plot slots. To claim a new plot use the command /town claim. If you are unhappy with your claim you can use /town unclaim to unclaim the plot. You will not receive a refund for the money spent but you will free up a claim slot. The world also may regenerate after uncalming. Claims must be adjacent to your towns other claims. If you don’t want add more players to your town to gain more plots you can purchase more by using the command /town buy bonus [amount].

What if you want to claim a plot away from your town? You can create an outpost. Outposts are remote locations away from the town, they cost more money and take a claim slot but are useful if you

Page 9: tscgaming.org  · Web view[TSC] is an RPG server and as such the server has quests the player can perform. Quests are tasks given to the player that can reward the player with XP,

are trying to get exclusive access to a particular part of land away from your town. You can also then expand your outpost by using the /town claim command in an adjacent plot of land.

Commands for players

/town claim --- claims the chunk you are standing in for your town

/town unclaim --- unclaims the chunk you are standing in

/town claim outpost --- creates an outpost. A claim away from your town.

8. Jails

Sometimes you might have an issue within your town that might require you to put a player in a time out instead of contact an admin or mod. Mayors, assistants, and sheriffs can jail these players and also make outlaw players. If you are a Mayor or an assistant you can set the towns jail. Jails take up an entire plot. In order to set a jail use the command /plot set jail, then go to the location you want a jailed resident to spawn in when they are jailed. Use the command /town set jail. To jail a resident use the command /town toggle jail [jailnumber] [resident] in example

/town toggle jail 1 resident --- for jail number use 1 unless you have more than 1 jail plot.

What if the player is not part of your town and they’re causing issues. Well you can make them an outlaw. An outlaw if killed while in the town they are outlawed from will be jailed in the town’s jail. To make a player an outlaw use the command /town outlaw add [player] to remove the outlaw status of player simply use the command /town outlaw remove [player]. You can also see a towns outlaw list by using the command /town outlawlist [townname]

9. Nations

You’re town and another town might start to get along and become friends, but neither town wants to remove their town to join another one, you can always create a nation. Nation is great way to massively expand your town and a great way to build allies. Additionally, you can become a bigger nation with another nation.

To create a nation use the command /nation new [nationname] then to add a town to your nation use the command /nation add [town]. The mayor of the town the request was sent to will have to accept or deny the request to join the nation. If you are wanting to add another nation to your nation use the command /nation ally add [nationname]. In this case the king of the nation will have to accept or deny the request to become allies.

You can also remove a town from your nation by using the command /nation remove [town]. You can stop being allies with another nation by using the command /nation ally remove [nation] Your nation and another kings nation might not get along with eachother in that case you would want to use

Page 10: tscgaming.org  · Web view[TSC] is an RPG server and as such the server has quests the player can perform. Quests are tasks given to the player that can reward the player with XP,

the command /nation enemy add [nation] to mark the nation as your enemy. You can become neutral with them again by using the command /nation enemy remove [nation]

If you are a king of a nation you get assign ranks to residents of your nation by using the command /nation rank add [resident] [rank]. There are 2 ranks available at the nation level, a helper and an assistant. An assistant works in much the same way as the assistant in the town level. The helper is able to add towns to the nation.

As your nation expands the upkeep for your nation and town increases. You can help keep up with expenses by setting a daily tax that all of the other towns in the nation have to pay. You can do this by using the command /nation set taxes [amount]. If a town is unable to pay for the tax they will be removed from the nation. Don’t forget to add money to your nation’s bank so it can pay for the upkeep! Use the command /nation deposit [amount].

You can also make a chest a donation chest, items that are inserted by other players cannot be removed. You can do this by using the command /cdonation then punch the chest. You can also remove any permissions to the chest by using the command /cremove then punch the chest. There might be situations where you want to remove all the LWC protections belonging to you, you can do this by using the command /cremoveall

Sometimes you might want to make a chest private by a password so that way only people that know your chests password can access them. In order to ass a password to chest you must first remove any current permissions on the chest. You can do this by using the command /cremove than punch the chest. Next you would use the command /cpassword [password] then enter the password to the chest. Plugin: FairTrade

There are many different way to trade on our server, but the easiest way to trade and not have to worry about being scammed by another player is to use the FairTrade plugin. FairTrade is a GUI based trading system. Using the Trading system is very simple and easy, in order to trade a player must be in a 10 block radius of you, use the command /trade [player] they will be notified that they have a request. In order to accept the request type /accept.

Page 12: tscgaming.org  · Web view[TSC] is an RPG server and as such the server has quests the player can perform. Quests are tasks given to the player that can reward the player with XP,

A GUI will appear, the GUI is divided into 2 sections and has a button in the middle. The 2 sections are divided with two glass panes, the left side are items you are offering to trade and the right hand side are the items the other player wants to trade with you.

Page 13: tscgaming.org  · Web view[TSC] is an RPG server and as such the server has quests the player can perform. Quests are tasks given to the player that can reward the player with XP,

Add the items you want to trade to the left hand side and the opposing player will do the same, when you are satisfied with the trade press on the book & quill and your items will be traded. When you press accept the red pane will turn into green pane indicated you are ok with the trade. You can click this again if you change your mind about the trade. Once both players have readied the trade, the trade will process and you will have successfully traded the items.

Due note that when a transaction is completed it is given an id, if you feel you were scammed in a trade or if something weird happened during a trade be sure to write down the id and notify an admin on the server or on the forums as they can view the log and help you resolve an issue. Contact Timmie124 if you lose the trade ID.

Commands for players

/trade [player] --- sends a trade request to player if they’re in a 10 block radius

/accept --- Accepts the trade request

Commands for Mods & Admins

/tradelog [id] --- Shows a GUI receipt of the trade that took place. Dividing panes do not appear in this GUI so use your imagination.

Plugin: ezAuctions

Another form of trading on the server is using one of the auction systems. ezAuctions is the best way to auction off items in the server if there are other players currently playing. If you don’t know what an auction is, an auction is where an item is placed up for sell, and other players can bid on the item for a certain period of time. The highest bid at the end of the timer is the winner of the auction and the winning player is given the item. Any item on the server can be put up for auction.

Starting an auction is very easy, first you need to put the item you want to add to auction in your hand, then you would use the command /auction start [amount] [price] [increment] [autobuy] [time]. If you want to sell all of the items of the same type in your hand use “all” and it will put all the items of the same type for auction. Increment is the minimum amount you bid, for example if a starting price of an item if 10, and the increment is 5, each bid at minimum will increase by 5. Autobuy is an optional parameter. Time is not used on our server, all auctions will last 60 seconds. Auctions cost $10 to start and winnings are taxed 2.5%.

Biding on an auction is easy, you can use the command /bid [amount]. If you leave amount empty your bid will only increase by the increment amount. If an auction has a buyout price you would use the command /bid [buyoutprice] and you will automatically when the auction.

If you start an auction and change your mind about selling the item you can always cancel the auction before the time is up by using the command /auction cancel. In some cases you might start an auction while another auction is running, these auctions will be added to a que, if you want to remove an auction from the que you can use the command /auction remove.

Page 14: tscgaming.org  · Web view[TSC] is an RPG server and as such the server has quests the player can perform. Quests are tasks given to the player that can reward the player with XP,

Sometimes players might be auctioning a custom item, an item with enchantments, items that have more than one value, stones, and woods. These items in the chat may not appear as the correct item, for example you might be selling granite but in the chat the item will appear as stone. You can reveal what the item really is and all its details by hovering over the item name in the chat with your mouse. You can also type /auction info to display the info of the current auction again if it disappears from chat.

The ezAuction system can be rather spammy and can be very distracting at times, especially when you are trying to chat with other players and aren’t interested in buying anything. Luckily you have a couple of tools available to you that let you either ignore the auctions completely, particular players, or just ignore bids and anti-snipe messages. If you want to hide all auctions from being displayed in chat use the command, /auction ignore. If a certain player is spaming the auction system you can ignore a specific player by using the command, /auction ingnoreplayer [player]. Lastly if you want to ignore bids and the anti-snipe spam but still want to see when something goes up for auction you can use the command /auction spam. Repeat any of these commands to undo them.

Commands for players

/auction start [amount] [price] [increment] [autobuy] [time] --- starts an auction or adds auction to que

/bid --- bids on an auction

/auction cancel --- cancels an auction that is currently in progress

/auction remove --- removes an auction that in que

/auction ignore --- stops you ezAuctions from displaying in your chat

/auction ignoreplayer --- Ignores a specific players auctions

/auction spam --- Stops bid and anti-snip messages

/auction info --- displays what’s currently for auction

Commands for Admins & Mods

/auction impound --- deletes and cancels an auction and the item that was for auction

/auction disable --- disables auctions from starting

/auction enable --- enables auctions to start

Plugin: Crazy Auctions

Crazy Auctions on our server is an alternative to ezAuctions that lets players have multiple items for auction and for sell. The plugin provides you a GUI interface that lets you view what items are for sell and for auction, it can break down the items into categories and also lets you view your items that are

Page 15: tscgaming.org  · Web view[TSC] is an RPG server and as such the server has quests the player can perform. Quests are tasks given to the player that can reward the player with XP,

for sell or auction, as well as the ability to see you’re canceled or expired item history. There is also a button that will switch between auctions and items for sale.

If you are wanting to sell an item in the Crazy Auctions’ Auction house you would first put the item you want to sell into your hand then you would use the command /ca sell [price] [amount]. You can also put an item up for auction, you can do this by using the command /ca bid [price] [amount]. The minimum selling and bidding price is $10, and the quantity can range from 1-64. You can have up to 10 items up for sell. Items for sell and for auction will stay in the auction house for 2 days unless you cancel the items.

Everything besides starting an auction and putting an item for sell is done through the GUI interface. To open the auction house GUI you would use the command /ah

Page 16: tscgaming.org  · Web view[TSC] is an RPG server and as such the server has quests the player can perform. Quests are tasks given to the player that can reward the player with XP,

This is the auction GUI, the first items you see on the GUI are items that are for sell, the bottom row are controls that will help you navigate throughout the Auction House GUI. Hover over the buttons to find out what each button does, everything is pretty self-explanatory. To cancel an item, view your items that are for sale & auction and just click on the item and it will be canceled. Canceled and expired items must be redeemed through the GUI, just click on the item and it will be returned to your inventory.

Plugin: Chestshop

Chest shops are a great way for players to create their own shops. These shops are capable of both buying and selling items. Creating a shop is very simple, it requires 2 items, a sign and a chest. You can use a single or a double chest.

Place a chest and then add a sign in anywhere in a 1 block radius of the chest.

When you place the sign, leave the first line blank. The second line is how many of the item you receive per purchase or per sale. The third line of the sign is the price of them item. Player Handbook:

This is the player handbook, it contains just about every bit of information that you need in the server. It goes over everything from the servers custom items to commands such as warping. These tutorials are not perfect and may contain errors. Plugins break from time to time, if something in this tutorial notify an admin or make a post on the forums so they can address and fix the issue. This handbook is ever growing as the server expands and new plugins are added and old ones removed.
