During a period where I was becoming more aware of the influential artists to my inner being, I started taking notice of a small group I had naturally started seeking out sub-concisely and wanted to find out more about the technics used I also started to notice small nuances of influences a line in a painting was pleasingly the right line in a piece of wood I was working with a colour in a piece of glass and the curve was reticent of influences with the Artists in this show of work.

I under took a series of travels were I kept running into the work of many artists of influence to me, but the following four were the works I stopped at the most and studied the most and found myself following up with the most.

I hope you enjoy this body of work as much as I have.

David Nash is a British sculptor and Land artist working primarily with natural materials and live trees. His wooden sculptures are made using heavy equipment including chainsaws and

blowtorches, morphing trees into unexpected shapes such as his Oculus Block (2010), a melding of two Eucalyptus stumps into a solid square. Born on November 14, 1945 in Esher,

England, he attended the Kingston College of Art and later the Chelsea School of Art. Among his first and best-known works is Ash Dome (1977), for which the artist planted a circle of ash trees to form a wooden dome, its location kept secret to protect its delicate

environment. In his performance Wooden Boulder (1978), Nash released a large carved ball of wood on a Welsh mountainside to be taken by nature gradually towards the Atlantic

Ocean over the course of many years. His work has been featured in the Abbot Hall Art Gallery in Kendal, Gallery Lelong in Zürich, Sala de la Diputacion in Spain, Annely Juda Fine Art in London, and Kew Gardens in Queens. He was elected a Royal Academician in 1999,

and was awarded an Order of the British Empire for services to the arts in 2004.

Wassily Kandinsky

He is credited with painting one of the first recognized purely abstract works.[1] Born in Moscow, Kandinsky spent his childhood in Odessa, where he graduated at Grekov Odessa Art School. He enrolled at the University of Moscow, studying law and economics. Successful in his profession—he was offered a professorship (chair of Roman law) at the University of Dorpat—Kandinsky began painting studies (life-drawing, sketching and anatomy) at the age of 30.

Bauhaus. 1922-1933

After returning to Germany, Kandinsky accepts an invitation of Walter Gropius, the founder of the well-known Bauhaus (the Higher school of construction and art designing) and he and Nina moved to Weimar where Kandinsky headed a fresco workshop. He again taught and developed the ideas. They dealt, first of all, with the deep analytical studying of separate elements of a picture, which resulted into "Point and Line to Plane" in 1926. Kandinsky also worked much and experimented with color, applying his analytical foundation and the conclusions in his teaching. Kandinsky's works again underwent changes: individual geometrical elements increasingly entered the foreground, his palette was sated with cold color harmonies which, at times, are perceived as a dissonance, the circle is used differently, as a sensual symbol of perfect form. "Composition VIII", 1923 is the main work of the Weimar period. Alongside with conceptual works, at this time he created Small Worlds rich in fantasy for Propilei Publishing House and some chamber, "intimate" pictures, such as "Small Dream in Red", 1925. Also Kandinsky lectured and exhibited in the USA, having established together with with Feininger, Javlenskii, and Klee "Blue Four".
