October 31-November 4, 2016 Volume 9 Issue 9 Ms. Bucci's Newsletter Next Week… In Language Arts we will be reading CVC words, working with word families, writing nonfiction facts about bears, writing & illustrating in our journals, learning Jolly Phonics sounds /oa/ & /j/, and continue to work with rhyming words. In Math, we will be moving on to Module 3: Comparison of Length, Weight, Capacity, and #’s to 10. We will be comparing lengths using taller than/shorter than with aligned and non-aligned endpoints. Reading Book Next week’s reading book from the Harcourt Reading series is called, “The Big Ram.” Sight words the, go, & you will be reviewed. Letter of the Week Cromer News… Family Turkey Project A family turkey project is being sent home today for you to complete with your child and return as soon as it is finished. They will be displayed on the hallway bulletin board for Thanksgiving. Show and Tell We will be studying BEARS for the next 2 weeks. To enrich our curriculum, we will be taking a field trip to Bearizona, having a teddy bear picnic, categorizing nonfictional/fictional bears using a Venn Diagram, and learning many bear facts.

Teddy Bear Picnic If you can, please send in one of your child’s teddy bears to school. It will remain in the classroom for 2 weeks. We will be doing several math and language arts activities and having a “teddy bear picnic” with our bears!
