MORE ON THE PLAN OF SALVATION

As stated two weeks ago I began a series of articles with passages coming from the book “The Simple Truth” by Aaron Erhardt. We will continue our look at the truth of salvation. This morning we will look at the fourth area of the “Plan of Salvation” and how we are to follow each step to truly reach our ultimate goal in this life, “Heaven.”

CONFESSA Person must confess his/her faith publicly. “Therefore

whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32). “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10).

There seems to be some confusion or misunderstanding as to what we are to confess. The conversion account of the eunuch may help to clear up the confusion. The Bible says, “Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?” Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him” (Acts 8:35-38). Notice that the eunuch confessed his faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. This is the proper confession to be made before all.

Timothy, the young evangelist, made the same good confession of faith before many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12). We know that it was the same confession because it is likened unto the confession Jesus made before Pilate (1 Timothy 6:13). Now we might ask what did Jesus confess. He had confessed that He was the Son of God “And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and saying, “You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross.” Likewise the chief priests also, mocking with the scribes and elders, said, “He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him. He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, ‘I am the Son of God’” (Matthew 27:39-43). Let each of us make this good confession and continue to let others see it in our lives by living for the Son of God.

WOODBRIDGE

A brother from Huntsville, AL, visited us recently and left this post on our church guestbook:

“I wanted to let you know what a wonderful experience my family and I had this past Sunday, as we worshipped our

God together with you while in your city. Whenever we are out of town we make it a point to worship with the saints. It

was just like being at home. That's the way it should be with people of like precious faith. The sermon was very

relative to what we are to be about, and the entire service was very uplifting. Whenever we are in the area again we

will definitely look to be a part of the worship service.”

Good News!We have a new sister in Christ!

Camala Price took on her Lord last Sunday morning. What a wonderful blessing to us all. Her address is:
