Sub-Information seek under RTI(Act)

Q1- Is the remedial classes run by the school under the below format is not the violation of DSEAR 1973?

Q2- Does the School inform/seek permission from the concern DDE for running a parallel school on Saturdays on the name of Remedial classes in such format and minting money (or DDE has been obliged to keep eyes shut)?

Q3- Provide me year wise the audited copy of total account (Remedial classes) of fee collected, fine collected; amount paid to teacher, in-charge, principal, bus operator and ministerial staff.

Q4- I demand an independent enquiry by DoE against the principal as soon as possible which is sucking the hard earned money of parents and exploiting innocent children and his staff.

Remedial Scam

Charge

1. The Principal Delhi Public School, Mathura Road with the nexus of his some near and dear teacher running a remedial scam for so many years exploiting Student, Parents, Teachers and Ministerial staff.

Background

2. (i) If any student score less than 40% marks in exams in any subject(s), he/she is put under the remedial classes for that/those subject(s) with a fee of @ say Rs 300 per month(4 or 5 classes).

(ii) This fee is deposited in the account section; he/she gets a receipt of it also.

(iii) Now a time table is made assigning the teachers to take classes for 2hrs (7.30am-9.30am; 9.30am-11.30am; 11.30am-1.30pm) on Saturdays (being 5 days week Saturday is off for the regular school).

(iv) CCA buses which are privately hired for the transportation of students only run in the morning and afternoon. If a student has to attend a class, say 11.30am-1.30 pm then either has to come at 7.30am (wasting 4 hrs) or make his/her own arrangements (a serious security threat for student). Similarly the student who finishes his/her class say at 9.30am again faces the same problem (a serious security threat for student).

(v) Teachers are paid from the money collected as a remedial fee @ Rs 500 not cash but it goes into their bank account which is taxable.

(vi)The teacher in-charge (master mind of this scam) gets @ Rs 1500 without teaching any class. She also calls few ministerial staff and other favorite teacher (unnecessary) on payment just to oblige them.

(v) In the last so many year The Principal hardly ever present in the school or physically taken a round to judge/inspect what his happening during these classes.

How The Principal with the nexus of teacher in-charge mint few lakhs/thousand of money every academic session ?

1. The remedial classes start with the beginning of new session as soon as a student land in new class, on the basis of his previous year result (less that 40% in subject(s)) he is put in the remedial classes, it is just like that in mythology you have to bear suffering of your previous birth. A student in class VII was not able to score 40% in science( due to any reason/circumstances he was weal in class VII science) but he/she has to a attend the remedial classes of class VIII science form the day one of class VIII. Isn’t it very ridiculous – that because you have suffered with malaria last year therefore you have take Quinolones this year also. Let first give that child an opportunity to score less then 40% marks to qualify for remedial – but master mind with the privilege of the principal hardly thinks beyond the remedial fee…..

2. The actual minting machine is not the fee but the fine which is collected @Rs 300 per absent from these classes (hardly given any excuses against medical etc). Say there are 5 classes @ Rs 300 for a month and if a student doesn’t attend any class then he/she is bound to pay Rs 1500(5×300) else his/her result or admit card or clearance will not be given.

3. There were cases when the optimum number of student doesn’t qualify the criteria of remedial class to be profitable i.e. minimum 5 or 8 students are not there then there will no remedial class for that subject…. It is not a good business preposition because they can’t meet their end with this less number of fee and fine- who cares about weak student – ‘Saturday ki dhyadi (daily wages) banani chahiye’.

4. They are also getting some benefit from the private bus operators used for this purpose – ‘Jahan se bhi kuch miley bator lo’

Note/disclaimer- All the above information is shared to me by students/parents and employees of the school - Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi else the DDE (south) and of course The Principal(National Awardee) DPS Mathura Road can present the hard evidences to come clean from this issue. I will pray to almighty that they should at least try to do this.
