1. Opening

Eva Markerink: Ladies and Gentleman, The EBF Board would like to welcome you to the

General Members Assembly of the Economics and Business Student

Association Groningen. Are there people in the room who are not a member of

the EBF? Yes. Does anyone object to her or him being present at this

meeting. No? Okay, welcome. Then after the following drop of the hammer the

meeting is officially opened.

2. Announcements/ Incoming documents

Eva Markerink: For the announcements and incoming documents I would like to give the word

to the Secretary & HR Officer of the EBF Board, Femmina Petrusma

Femmina Petrusma: Mobile phones should be switched off. There is no smoking allowed in the

room. Everyone needs to sign the presence list. If anyone has not done so,

1Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

could they please do this now? When somebody has a question, this should

be made clear by raising the hand in the air. Please could people that ask a

question stand up and clearly state their name. If someone wishes to leave the

room, then they should let the Secretary & HR Officer know. First we start with

the incoming documents, we will have six incoming documents. And I and

Joost will read them out loud.

3. Establishment of the Agenda

Eva Markerink: There were no supplements to the agenda submitted within the set period.

Therefore, the agenda is hereby set.

4. Approval of the minutes from Half-Yearly General Members Meeting dated 12 th of February 2018

Eva Markerink: The minutes of the Half-Yearly General Members Assembly dated on the 12th

of February 2018 were recorded by the secretary and will be discussed. The

minutes were placed at the door together with the other documents and you

could have picked them before. Grammatical mistakes can be handed in on

paper, right now comments can be made concerning the content of the

minutes. Are there comments concerning page 1-4?? 5-8? 9-12? 13-15? 15-

18? There are no objections or corrections to the minutes. The minutes were

confirmed without any changes.

5. Establishment Yearly Report EBF Board 2017-2018

Eva Markerink I would like to give the word to Lisa Holtjer, Chairman of the EBF Board 2017-

2018, to give a presentation about the Yearly Report of the EBF Board 2017-

2018.

Presentation Lisa Holtjer

Eva Markerink: Questions can be asked per topic. If there are no questions for a board

member the first round, then the second round is automatically skipped. The

task division of the EBF Board is presented on page 6 and 7 of the

documents. Is there a need for a first round of questions for Lisa Holtjer?

Annelien Netjes: Lisa thank you for your presentation, I have a question about your pre-master

event. First of all which master group did you target and which pre-master

group did you target? And besides that how did you promote it?

Lisa Holtjer: You are talking about the barbecue I guess. We promoted it through

Facebook, mainly on Facebook because it was already in the first academic

week of the year. So there was not much room for flyering. We promoted it in

2Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

general as a pre-master, master barbecue throught Facebook. But for

example we also invited the program coordinators of the master that are in our

Master Communities. So they were also involved in there.

Annelien Netjes: Okay thank you.

Eva Markerink: Are there any other questions for Lisa Holtjer? Moving on to the Vice-

Chairman. Is there a need for a first round of questions for Michiel Hilderink?

Sander de Vries: Michiel you and I have been at the FVOG meetings a lot this year. And

nowadays they are looking for a new board and I was wondering what the

EBF is doing to make sure the FVOG can continue to exist.

Michiel Hilderink: Sander thank you for your question, first of all I won’t be in the next FVOG

board. But the EBF supports the FVOG with finding a new board by talking

with people and making them enthusiastic for the FVOG board, so that is what

we do.

Patrick Driessen: I was wondering how did you find the collaboration between the EBF Board

and the FVOG last year?

Michiel Hilderink: I think the collaboration between the EBF Board and the FVOG had some

advantages for the EBF itself and also has a lot of value in getting study

associations together. And also show the need of study associations to the

faculty.

Patrick Driessen: Okay thank you.

Eva Markerink: Some things never change right? Is there a need for a second round of

questions for Michiel Hilderink? Moving on to the Secretary & HR Officer. Is

there a need for a first round of questions for Femmina Petrusma? Then we

automatically skip the second round. Then we move on to Wouter. Is there a

need for a first round of question for Wouter Reuvers, concerning non-financial

questions? .

Judith de Jonge: I have a question about the online declaration form. Do you see that more

students are using the declaration form?

Wouter Reuvers: Actually the online declarations have just been made possible. We even made

some final tweakes to the system, because there were some errors converting

pictures to PDF. So actually only my board members piloted it for the online

declaration. So we don’t have any data for that yet.

Eva Markerink: Is there a need for a second round of questions? Is there a need for a first

round of questions for Rosanne? Then we automatically skip the second

round.

Eva Markerink: Is there a need for a first round of questions for Jesse Boeijenga?

Bart Oude Avenhuis: The acquisition records show a lower amount then expected, do you see a

trend or is this one time.

3Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

Jesse Boeijenga: Thank you Bart for my first question. As you might know we have had a lot of

career events this year, more than last years. And a lot of money from

companies also float to them, so that is the reason that our total income was a

little bit less than expected. But it is not a big short.

Eva Markerink: Good question. Is there a need for a second round of questions for Jesse? Is

there a need for a first round of questions for Joost? Then the second round is

then automatically skipped. Is there a need for a first round of questions for

Sven? No? Also not about what you have been doing this year? Then the

second round is then automatically skipped. Are there general questions

concerning the Yearly Report of EBF Board 2017-2018?

Wibo Ypma: I saw something about the sustainability reward you received last year. Can

you tell a little bit more about it and why did you get it and in which way? And

what did you do with sustainability?

Michiel Hilderink: I was busy with sustainability and the Green Officer of the univerisity

contacted us. Because sustainability is one of the six items in the universities

strategy for the upcoming years. And they are also inviting study associations

to participate in this sustainability project. They tried to make the university as

a whole more sustainable and that is why we participated. Because we as an

EBF Board think sustainability adds value to your association. And also to

everything surrounding.

Eva Markerink: If you want to know any more about sustainability you can always go to him.

Jeroen Berends: So you have earned the certificate, but besides time and effort did it also take

money to earn the certificate?

Michiel Hilderink: No it did not cost money. And also with this label we handed in a policy plan

and therefore we may be able to obtain a subsidy. We did not receive the

answer about that yet, but it will be coming in July.

Eva Markerink: Is there a need to put it to a vote? Then upon the following drop of the

hammer the report of the EBF Board 2017-2018 is established.

6. Establishment Financial Report EBF Board 2017-2018

Eva Markerink: I would like to give the word to Wouter Reuvers, Treasurer EBF Board 2017-

2018 to give a presentation concerning the Financial Report of the EBF Board

2017-2018.

Presentation Wouter Reuvers

4Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

Eva Markerink: Thank you Wouter for your presentation. So now we will go to the financial

questions, this means the board kilos are skipped. Is there need for a first

round of questions for Wouter about the Yearly Financial Report. \

Sander de Vries: I have a question about the uncollectible accounts. How long did you know

that this amount could not be collected? And how old are these?

Wouter Reuvers: They are all over 1,5 years old.

Sander de Vries: So why did you choose to budget this, because they were quite old and you

maybe could have known from the beginning that you could not collect these.

Wouter Reuvers: I think that in the beginning we maybe should have already made plans to

budget this, because at that time we still had the hope that they could be

collected. But maybe we could prevent this situation by looking better at our

debtors in the future, because you don’t want this amount of money spend

because of overdue debtors.

Kas van den Broek: Wouter I am very gratefull that you are not sick this time. My first question is

what do the released provisions mean?

Wouter Reuvers: The released provisions was the lustrum provision. Every year the EBF adds

10.000 euros to the lustrum provision. And this year we had the lustrum, so we

released the entire provision on the total income statement. So the lustrum

was actually a committee realisation and that explains that number.

Kas van den Broek: How is it possible that the webhosting costs increased this year?

Wouter Reuvers: I am not really actually sure, Rosanne?

Rosanne Kroon: This was due to a change by the website provider. They wanted us to have a

maintenance contract with them and we never had that before. Because at the

start they did the maintenance for free, but now they wanted a contract. Also

the fee of the website provider raised this year.

Anouk Eikelboom: Why is the realisation of the socials and consumptions budget way higher than

budgeted

Wouter Reuvers: That is explained because this year our constitution drinks costs were a bit

higher than budgeted. Also the total amount of money spend on socials was

higher than budgeted.

Eva Markerink: Is there a need for a second round of questions for Wouter? No? Are there

general questions concerning the Yearly Financial Report EBF Board 2017-

2018? Is there a need to put it to a vote? Upon the following drop of the

hammer the Financial Report of the EBF Board 2017-2018 will be

established.

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

7. Discharge EBF Board 2016-2017 and appointment EBF Board 2017-2018

Eva Markerink: We move to the discharge of the EBF Board 2017-2018 and the appointment

of the EBF Board 2018-2019, which can be found on page 10. I will read it out

loud. Dear Members, hereby the EBF Board 2017-2018 proposes to

discharge:

Lisa Holtjer Chairman

Michiel Hilderink Vice-Chairman

Femmina Petrusma Secretary & HR Officer

Wouter Reuvers Treasurer

Rosanne Kroon IT & Marketing Officer

Jesse Boeijenga Commercial Officer

Joost van Greusnven Project Officer

and to transfer their tasks and obligations to the new board members.

2018-2019 as following:

Anne Veenhuyzen Chairman

Fiona Schouten Vice-Chairman

Luuk Platvoet Secretary & HR Officer

Anna Vegter Treasurer

Thijs ten Cate IT & Marketing Officer

Tim Brons Commercial Officer

Laurien Meijer Project Officer

Marit Prins Career Officer

Are there general questions concerning the discharge and appointment of

the EBF Board? Is there a need to put it to a vote? Upon the following

drop of the hammer the EBF Board 2017-2018 is discharged and the EBF

Board 2018-2019 will be appointed.

8 Round of questions 1

Eva Markerink: Are there questions for the first questions round? This is also the moment you

can congratulate the EBF Board 2017-2018.

Annelien Netjes: Dear EBF board 2017-2018, first of all, we would like to congratulate you all

on what you have achieved this year. We believe your focus points and

projects truly added value to the association. Besides the good collaboration

with Risk aswell as the other subassociations, we enjoyed many parties with

all of you, of which some we do remember and some we do not. We would

first like to share some memories with the girls. Lisa, first of all, thank you for

forwarding all our room reservations. And for keeping track of the cleaning of

6Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

the dishwasher. In the past year, you might have been the granny of the

interim. But we loved that, especially when granny went out and we got to

enjoy many drunk nights with you. Nights with you were always pretty fun,

since u always got drunk. One that really sticks by for us, is the one where

Manon poisened Lisa, Rosanne and Femmina with shots at the Chupito’s.

Femmina, you always have this cute innocent smile, but we know better now.

You are very good at getting totally drunk! However, you are also very sporty.

Together with Bart in your ‘zwemclubje’, there have been many early wake-up

calls in order to start your day as a fitgirl. Of course the most girly-girl Rosanne

was also in this clubje. You could recognize her by her ‘Hey heeey’ from miles

away. Besides that, we are quite disappointed in your integration with Risk.

Why did you never regel one of our guys? We hope you find a nice boyfriend

after this board year. In case you are wondering, we have two left! Wouter first

of all thanks for all the coffee. As a treasurer you were always fully focused on

your job, with your headphones on. However, at night your true self comes out

and we see you at the socials with many great dancemoves. Sven, were

Wouter has the dancemoves, you have the soccerskills. Unfortunately, the last

game was lost at the last moment since you blew up. Kas hasn’t slept for days

after this loss, but we forgive you. You have been complaining about your

position as Career Officers for quite a few time. Great to see that the position

of a project officer now gets a true meaning. But what are you going to do

about the career officer? Just kidding. Jesse, or should we say Rodger

Federer, after your masters, you decided to do a board year. If Lisa was the

granny, you would be the grandfather for sure. As an external, you are always

looking for good returns. Well, at least you found one at the MARUG this year!

Joost, you were the guy who was always smiling and in for a good chat, which

was very infectious to others. Your desk was in the worst position of the whole

EBF Office. However you always make the best out of everything, so we were

always happy to see you smile when we walked into the EBF and got to do

some techno hitjes requests, do a dillema op dinsdag or watch funny videos.

Michiel, as the board junior you had to earn your place. However, due to your

bijdehante opmerkingen all year through we believe you did that well. Patrick

enjoyed his FVOG dates together with you a lot and you will be missed.

Rattentaxi was kind of your thing, and you luckily escaped your squash match

with Bart as well. Dear board, thank you for this great half-year with us. With

three accountancy students on your board, I think we will see you back at our

Risk events! Good luck and have a nice holiday in Greece I hope.

7Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

Judith de Jonge: On behalf of the TeMa board 2016-2017 we want to congratulate you with all

your results. And I think you did a good job in the search for the next board. I

like to thank you for organizing a really nice mix with us. It was really fun. And

also thank you Lisa and Michiel for the new convenant. Also a big thank you

for the dishwasher at the Interim. And Wouter thanks for the Rabobank

scanner. Because I always forget that one. I keep it short, so thank you and

good luck with travel, job and further studies.

Jeroen Berends: Dear EBF Board 17-18 first of all I want to congratulate you on your year and

all of your achievements. Even though we have been able to work with you on

het hok for some time. I think it’s a shame that we cannot spend more time

together. Especially after hearing the great experiences of the other.

Nonetheless I want to wish all of you success on the steps you are going to

take after your board year.

Sander de Vries: Dear EBF Board on behalf of the VESTING board I would like to congratulate

you with your achievements of the past year. It has been a pleasure to work

alongside the EBF the past half year. And we would like to share some

experiences with the EBF Board. And we would like to start with Sven. You

were always very happy, and you were probably the most relaxed guy of the

board. We have seen you play soccer at the Knickerbockers, your soccerclub.

But we have also seen you play soccer at the Batavierenrace where VESTING

and EBF mixed very well. Allthough we won the Batavierenrace we

unfortunately did not win the soccer game. Possibly because of your

contribution aswell. Then Jesse. Unfortunately I missed the MARUG ALV but I

heard it got official with your girlfriend AJ and I was very happy to hear that.

On behalf of the VESTING BOARD and especially Femke I would like to thank

you, because the whole EBF were kind off our grannies. And you helped us

with a lot of things. You especially helped to close the VK, because Femke

was not able to close the fifty and you were able to help her. So thank you for

that as well. Then Joost. The man with many faces. We have seen you as a

gabber, as a snob, fit as a fiddle and also more than often hungover as hell.

And especially those days you came to the fifty and the VK for over an hour to

share with us the new boiler rooms and just talk about the night before. And

on a lucky day you also got to talk one hour, or two, or three with Anne. We

are still not sure whether you actually like to talk to her or that it went a little bit

further. I hope to see you many more times during festivals and other

activities. Because you are of course the chairman of the lolbrigade. Then

Rosanne, or should I say ‘HeyHey’ as you say that to everyone. Although you

are the only Bachelor women of the board, I think you have compensated that

8Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

quite well behaviour of the past year. Many men fell for your moves during the

socials and rumors go that you even slept with my predeccors once or twice.

And to be honest, we as the VESTING Board not only fell in love with you, but

also with your tasks as PR. Femmina your always in for some fun and you are

the cutest of the group. I especially remember one social where you were not

that cute. During the MARUG social you asked a lot of people, including me,

to do a what are the odds. It was a what are the odds to chug a beer from a

condom. And I was very glad to see that you were the one that actually lost

that what are the odds. Wouter you had the awesome job of handling the

budget. And thank you on my part as I came to you a lot of time with treasury

regarding questions. And not only your task is awesome, but your dance

moves are also quite extraordinary. They are even so explosive that during

one EBF Social you ripped out of your pants during one of your famous

moves, the slutdrop. Even though you are the poorest visitor of the fifty cent

shop, more on that later. I hope that we can still enjoy our penningsmeester

adtjes or in the future KasCo adtjes many times. Then Michiel. A fellow vice-

chairman, but luckily with some more tasks than joining the FVOG meetings.

During one of our socials you stood next to me and said: look around you,

there are somy happy faces and so many good people. You should stand still

sometimes and enjoy every minute of this. I thought you were a very

inspirational speaker. And then 2 or 3 weeks later I realized that you said the

exact same speech to Tom. Then last but not least Lisa. To be honest I was a

bit scared of you before I even met you. Because I was member of the

International Program Committee of VESTING and I was responsible for

reservatings some rooms in het Duisenberg. And you once mailed me back

very angrily that I should arrange the mail in a very specific manner. Once

again thank you for arranging all of those things. Actually you weren’t that

scary at all. You were very passionately. As you once brought cake and

decorated during one of the chairman meetings. And I hope that your

successor will also do that. On behalf of the whole VESTING Board we would

like to thank you of all the experiences of the last half year. And we wish you a

very good holiday.

Frank Oude Avenhuis: Dear EBF Board, on behalf of the 38 th MARUG Board we would like to

congratulate you with the results you obtained this year. And of course we

would like to thank you. Even though it has been rather short we have made

some nice memories already in the 1,5 months we have shared on the interim.

Michiel you were around in our board room a lot. And we weren’t surprised

that you have won our MARUG pubquiz. Jesse you secretly have red MARUG

9Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

heart. And we have been able to enjoy your karaoke skills a lot. With all the

videos that went around in the Interim snapchat. But we are actually quite

happy that that is finally over. Wouter you always managed to surprise us with

the most random fun facts that are absolutely useless. And you will probably

end up as the king of small talk wherever you end up later. Joost your highlight

was the bike ride home with Julia. I never heard so much bullshit come out of

someone. Strawberries, potatos, multiply it was really interesting. Sven you of

course take you intercultural competences very seriously. You have taken it

next level with your international relationship. Rosanne you are the

personification of a barby doll. Always with your pink shoes. Femmina you

were a lot in our room aswell. And I am sure we will miss your wonderful

appearance. As we have heard a lot already, the cutest of the board. Lisa

thank you for leading this group and for leading the rest of the chairman. The

last chairman event was a great success. And you will be dearly missed once

you are gone. So once again we want to thank you and wish you luck with

your next endeavors.

Joost van den Beukel: On behalf of the EBF Board 2015-2016 I would like to congratulate you with all

the things you have achieved. My fellow board members and myself haven’t

seen you all a lot last year. We have moved to a different city. But I did get to

spend some time with you last summer. I am very thankfull that I was allowed

to use all the computers at the interim to complete my thesis. So thank you for

the support. Enjoy your holiday tomorrow and I look forward to share a beer

with you afterwards.

Wibo Ypma: I will keep it a littlebit short. On behalf of the fourteenth candidate board of the

study association PM. I would like to congratulate you with all the

achievements of last year. Thanks for all the effort you put in together.

Besides that I want to wish you all the very best in your future career or your

study career.

Anne-Sophie de Jong: Dear EBF Board 2017-2018. Even though we did not get the full 2017-2018

experience, since we started in March 2018. We had a really great time

together. Together with the MARUG Board you introduced us to the interim

and you helped us with an easy start. Our official start was in Bakkeveen.

Where the active members weekend took place. We had a lot of fun, because

that is always a good way to get to know eachother. The aftermath was an

unpleasant surprise however. Half of our board wake up Sunday morning 4

AM because of a highly contagious virus that caught us. And we were not the

only one I heard. In particularly I would like to thank Jesse and Wouter, these

guys have helped us a lot during the supervisory board meetings. And the

10Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

experience with last yeras Recruitment Days helped us to evaluate and refine

our ideas about the event. Specifically I would like to thank you for supporting

the finances and acquisitions of our partners. We believe that your help will

again help improve the Recruitment Days. Obviously we also had a blast with

the other board members. You were always in for a chat and a helping hand if

necessary. Joost, Diederik really enjoyed the casual bottom up challenges you

initiated on the EBF Events and beyond. He will miss that for sure. So you

should definitely do it one more time tonight, so Diederik finally has a chance

to win. Again we would really like to thank you for your help and fun and we

would really like to see you again on the Recruitment Days.

Anne Veenhuyzen: Dear EBF Board 2017-2018, or as we know you, HB: Our journey together

started on the 9th of April, and what a journey it was. Around 4 o’clock that

afternoon we received the news that we would be the candidate board of the

EBF and from that moment on, the whole rollercoaster began. That afternoon,

our board dressed up as complete idiots, we started to get to know you. And

from that moment on, all our time was spent absorbing your knowledge and

wisdom. Each of us got to know their predecessor pretty good, since we spent

quite some hours together every week. But also all together we had some

really nice moments, of which we think Battle of the Boards was one of the

highlights. All dressed up in orange we went through the city as crazies,

singing, yelling, blowing on horns. We even got the question ‘’Huh, are the

Netherlands playing tonight’’? This night was one of the many fun moments

we had with you and we really appreciate having these. Since we spend a lot

of time together, we got to know you guys quite well. So we want to address

some words to each of you. Firstly I start with Lisa. The first thing we learned

about you was that you are known as the Granny of the board, even having

your ‘’number 1 grandma mug’’. Well for us it was not that bad. You actually

surprised us with your very fast beer chugging skills, resulting in beating me in

many Chairman beer chugs. I hope that practice makes perfect and that I can

continue your prestations in the Chairman beer chugs. But next to these

prestations, you were also really important for all of us during the transitioning

period. You learned us all quite a lot about the EBF and we want to thank you

for that. Next year you will be traveling in Australia, which you very well

deserved after all your hard working the last year for the EBF. We want to

wish you a lot of fun and good luck with all the insects and scary animals

which we know you love. And then we have our Vice-Chairman Michiel, the

guy of the small talk. But for someone who is so good at chit chatting you

reallyyyy take your time explaining yourself. Cut the crap Michiel, we already

11Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

got your point the first time. You also enjoyed yourself a lot in scaring off the

Kandi's from time to time. But this was of course all an act. Because secretly

Michiel is the perfect son in law who always shows interest in others and has a

positive attitude. These are very valuable characteristics from which we

learned a lot. Thanks for all your wise advises and good luck next year. And

we will always remember and live by your motto: don't forget to enjoy guys!

Then the lovely Femmina. One of the first things we learned about Femmina is

that she quite loves her drinks and sometimes has a little difficulty handeling

this. During the Old Board Day and the Casino Night Social in May Femmina

was already, let's call it tipsy, while everyone else barely started drinking. And

when she’s drunk, guys watch out, because she starts hitting all the guys that

stand around her. And as heard from Wouter, she hits pretty hard. Besides

that our guys sometimes needed to incur some hits, we have nothing negative

to say about you. You were someone that we could always build on and could

always ask all our questions. Furthermore, we can only say one thing about

you; you have been a real seccie superhero. We wish you all the best with

your master change next year and we expect that you will pay us a lot of visits.

And then Wouter. We got to know you as someone who likes to talk a lot,

which might explain the many hours Anna got to sit next to you while you

talked about all the financial aspects of the EBF. But she thinks you prepared

her very well to take over. Besides the serious business we got to know you

as someone who is always happy, and as someone who likes to shout some

very random stuff while you're working. You also deserve some credits for

your dancing moves, which we hope to still see a lot next year. Maybe in some

dance battles with our Thijs? Well, we really enjoyed spending time with you

and want to wish you good luck with your Masters next year. Then we go to

Roos; Our Queen of InDesign, the Guardian of the EBF corporate design,

lover of everything pink and with glitters, and, despite Joost’s efforts, our

unbeaten champion of the regelbokaal; Roos always know how to wrap the

boys around her finger. Even our very own secretary Luuk could not resist

your charms. You are a true blue hearted EBF veteran having been in two

committees and the board, and made many event posters look even better by

being on them: It’s impossible to imagine an Active Member’s day without our

Roos. Thankfully, we do not have to miss you for too long since you will be

walking around here at the faculty next year to finish your degree. Have an

amazing time in Indonesia and please drop by ‘het hok’ often next year. We’ll

miss you; the interim will be much less pink and cosy without you. Jesse: First

of all, thank you for all your effort, you for sure have been a good teacher for

12Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

Tim. But you couldn’t teach him everything. With you bragging about your

Indonesian roots we expected you to withstand every fiery challenge.

However, you did not beat your successor with eating a red pepper, so

bragging with your roots is not that trustworthy anymore. Maybe you can do a

do-over sometimes. But you did accomplish something else; a traineeship at

PON. We believe you will do this really successful, so good luck with this. A

little note from Tim: he wants to thank you for the last months and hopes that

he does accomplish his acquisition target. Joost: You always have such a

relaxed attitude and happy face which helped Laurien but also all of us

through the candidate period. With a lot of pride you always told us all the

amazing things that the EBF has achieved and the role of the committees in

this success, which you appreciate so deeply. You can always enthuse

everyone around you, something that all of us should continue upcoming year.

And there is something else you can do really good, chugging beer. Laurien is

still practicing to become as good as you are. But actually there is something

ever more surprising; how you can always look so fresh the morning after

you’ve been drinking. Me personally are really jealous of that… Next year you

will be doing your masters, which we are sure of you will succeed as good as

you did last year. And then last, but certainly not least: Sven. Two things that

became immediately clear to us is that Sven always really likes to win, and

that the others of his board do not want him to. But, with your fanaticism,

assertiveness and your appearance, which was of course checked in the

mirror several times a day, you were able to charm many of the recruiters you

spoke to, as well as lisa, of course. But one thing Sven, when you promise

something, you have to do it. So when you make a pinky swear that you will

really party a little bit harder next time, you have to stick to it. So I expect from

you that tonight you catch up on the drinks you missed at the battle of the

boards. But after all Sven, you have been an amazing career officer and we

wish you all the best next year. So, dear EBF Board 2017-2018, once again

thank you for all the time you invested in us. You achieved amazing things last

year of which you can be really proud. We will do our best to follow your great

example. So, to end this speech: Let’s enjoy one more evening together

tonight and then you can enjoy your well-deserved holiday.

11. Establishment Policy EBF Board 2017-2018

Eva Markerink: I would like to give the word to Anne Veenhuyzen, Chairman EBF Board

2018-2019 to give a presentation about the policy plans of the EBF Board

2017-2018, which can be found on page 89.

Presentation Anne Veenhuyzen:

Eva Markerink: Questions can be asked per topic. If there are no questions for a board

member the first round then the second round is automatically skipped. The

task division of the EBF Board is presented on page 8 and 9 of the

documents. There are two changes, the sustainability will be the responsibility

of Laurien and Marit will have the responsibility as data-driven and analysis 2.

The task division is correct on the slides. Is there a need for a first round of

questions for Anne Veenhuyzen?

Sunho Gwon: I have a question about the coffee cup recycling and the cups they are using.

Thank you for the chance to use plastic cups and semi plastic ones. But then I

checked, and I am not a chemist or anything. And as far as I checked the

plastic cup was made by recycling number 6 which is polyester and that is

unhealthy for the users. Even more than paper cups.

Anne Veenhuyzen: For the recyclable cups we will use plastic cups. But we will make sure that it

is safe to use, that is actually what we are investigating at the moment.

Laurien, our Project and Internationalisation Officer, who is responsible for

sustainability is investigating that at the moment. So we will make sure it is

sustainable this time. But thank you for your comments.

Annelien Netjes: First of all Anne thank you for your presentation. I still have a few questions.

So first of all you are talking about making a few brochures for certain

targetgroups, like freshmen and premaster. So I was wondering how are you

going to spread these, hardcope or online?

Anne Veenhuyzen: It is going to be hardcopy. For example the freshmen brochure will be given at

the introduction camp, in the first promotion week and in the lectures of our

target group. And for the master we will spread it at the master barbecue and

in the beginning when we are selecting our master communities.

Annelien Netjes: Okay thank you very much, then another question. You are talking about

combining possible events, what kind of events should we think of?

15Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

Anne Veenhuyzen: This is a plan for upcoming summer. But what we are thinking of is combining

some bachelor events with master events. So that we can also integrate the

communication between bachelor and master students more. But the concrete

plans are not made yet. So I will tell you that at the HALV.

Annelien Netjes: Okay I would love to hear it then. Then my last question. You are talking about

opening the board for an international member. Is there any interest from

international students to join the board?

Anne Veenhuyzen: We did have some personal conversations with international active members.

We heard some interests. But of course it will be a difficult process. We are

aware of that. But that is why we want to focus in our promotion on

international students and that we are opening up the board. We as a board

will also directly start to have more personal conversations with our

international active members. To make them aware that we are opening up

the board next year.

Hylke Halsema: I also have a question about opening up the board for international students.

You are saying that you are looking right now which positions are possible.

Will the positions also change, or will it be the same and just opening them up

for internationals?

Anne Veenhuyzen: The positions will be the same, and we are currently looking for which

positions are the most suitable for international students.

Frank Oude Avenhuis: Thank you for your presentation Anne. Something I was wondering about

considering the international student in the board. Will it from now on be a

possibility or will you make it a requirement?

Anne Veenhuyzen: No it will be a possibility. From the EBF we will make it possible for

international students to apply for the board but we cannot make sure that

there will be suitable international candidates next year. So it will not be a

requirement it will be a possibility.

Frank Oude Avenhuis: Okay, you just mentioned there are going to be a lot of new brochures and you

are going to make a hardcopy of those. How does this hurt your sustainability

policy point.

Anne Veenhuyzen: We will focus mostly on other aspects. For example we want to decrease the

use of paper for our board ourselves. So for example we will use a different

method for our general meetings. So in that way we want to compensate.

Because we still think this is a necessary investment to increase the

information provision.

Frank Oude Avenhuis: Thank you, lastly I was curious. What are the kinds of information these

students are not getting at the moment?

Anne Veenhuyzen: Which group do you mean?

16Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

Frank Oude Avenhuis: The premaster and master group

Anne Veenhuyzen: We want to make clear which communities we have. We have master

communities. So we want to make the pre master and master students clear

what these communities there are, what they are organising and for which

masters they are. And for the premasters for example we want to show them

what kind of events the EBF is organising for them at the moment.

Jeroen Berends: I have two questions. One is about your general policy internationalisation.

You already have a lot of committees open for internationals. Do you have a

goal of how many committees you want to open up next year besides the

board?

Anne Veenhuyzen: No we don’t have a goal. At the moment already 21 committees are open for

internationals and the other committees are a bit difficult to open. Because

they are a lot in contact with Dutch speakers or organisations. So we don’t

have a goal for it but we will try to open up more.

Jeroen Berends: Okay, and the second question is also about the EBF information provision for

pre masters. The brochure and video. Is there a deadline before which you

want to finish it. For example before the barbecue?

Anne Veenhuyzen: Yes exactly, the brochure and the video we will have to get ready this

summer. Because otherwise it will lose its effect if we don’t have it at our

beginning events.

Eva Markerink: Is there a need for a second round of questions for Anne Veenhuyzen?

Wibo Ypma: Thanks for your presentation. I have a question about the general policy

considering the data driven organisation. How are you going to assess the

needs of data and how are you going to optimize the use of data.

Anne Veenhuyzen: With the need for data we mean that we want to make clear for our self what

we want to achieve from the data. So for example we can look at the

enrolments for the events. So we can make a decision about whether we want

to organise the event next year yes or no. So that is also directly an answer to

your operationalisation question. So we first want to establish our needs and

then use in for our operationalisation to draw decisions from it.

Anouk Eikelboom: You are organising the meet the committees event. Do you already have ideas

what this event will look like?

Anne Veenhuyzen: It will be an informal based event, so we are thinking about a couch in

Duisenberg plaza. And in September we want to put the committees up there

who are recruited in September and in February those who are recruited in

February. It is really informal, so it will be like a small talk conversation with

somebody who already did the committee so you can learn more about the

committee in an informal way.

17Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

Anouk Eikelboom: And how do you want to make the students enthusiast about this?

Anne Veenhuyzen: It is in our promotion week, so we will be promoting the whole week all around

Zernike. So in our promotion we will also make people aware of this event.

Eva Markerink: Is there a need for a first round of questions Fiona Schouten?

Patrick Driessen: If FVOG stops to exist, how are you going to make sure there is a good

collaboration with other faculties?

Fiona Schouten: We as the EBF still see value in a concentrated body that represents the other

study associations. So we will have a meeting about it with the other study

associations and then decide. The deadline is Friday so then we will hear.

Maica van der Most There were 2 points described in the general policy, but I have a question

about the first contact moments that you are also focussing on. You describe

that you will focus on the first contact moments for bachelor students during

the Intro Weekend, SPAA dinner and Freshmen Trip. My question is, will there

also be a physical booksale organised next year again? And what is the

reason that it is not on this list?

Fiona Schouten: That’s a good question. We do organise the booksale next year, but we have

a slightly different design. Because we also provide the opportunity for first

years to get their books send home. But there was no reason to not put it in

the list.

Eva Markerink: Is there a need for a second round of questions for Fiona Schouten? Is there a

need for a first round of questions for Luuk Platvoet? No? Then the second

round of questions is automatically skipped. Is there a need for a first round of

questions for Anna Vegter concerning non-financial questions? No? Then the

second round is automatically skipped. Is there a need for a first round of

questions for Thijs ten Cate?

Job Wentink Hi Thijs, I was wondering about the new website and CRM system, since you

are responsible for the website. This is a pretty big project I think. By when do

you think it should be online and how do you think about the parties that you

have contact with?

Thijs ten Cate: We are still very much in the investigative phase of selecting a new website

provider. And we are actually benchmarking with other study associations right

now. I don’t want to give an estimate about when we are going to launch it, but

we are definitely planning to launch it this year. But when in the year exactly

I’m not sure.

Maurice Apeldoorn: I have a question about the website aswell. Relating to the information

provision, because you are talking about wanting to standardize the website

more. Since it is now fully custom made it opens up a lot of opportunities to

actually change the website accordingly to your specific needs. How far are

18Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

you expecting that to change with the new website and how will that influence

the optimization of information provision?

Thijs ten Cate: Well actually with a standardized website you can still influence or choose

mostly the designs of how you want to provide information. A good example of

how we are planning to change the provision of information is the agenda of

events. That we are planning on putting on the front page immediately when

you enter the website. There are actually plenty of opportunities still to

improve the provision of information on the website with a standardized

website.

Eva Markerink: Is there a need for a second round of questions for Thijs ten Cate? Is there a

need for a first round of questions for Tim Brons?

Bart Oude Avenhuis: Currently the EBF has three main partners. Do you plan to maintain those, or

enlarge them?

Tim Brons: During the summer we have meetings with all our partners. And during all

those meetings all the partnerships are evaluated and were looking forward to

the next year. So we still don’t know.

Eva Markerink: Is there a need for a second round of questions for Tim Brons? Is there a need

for a first round of questions for Laurien Meijer? No? Then the second round is

automatically skipped. Is there a need for a first round of questions for Marit

Prins? No then we still don’t know what the Career Officer does. Are there

general questions concerning the Yearly Report of the EBF Board 2018-2019?

Is there a need to put it to a vote? Upon the following drop of the hammer the

Yearly Report of the EBF Board 2018-2019 is established.

12. Establishment Financial Policy EBF Board 2018-2019

Eva Markerink: I would like to give the word to Anna Vegter, Treasurer EBF Board 2018-2019,

to give a presentation concerning the Financial Policy of the EBF Board 2018-

2019, which can be found on page 85.

Presentation Anna Vegter

Eva Markerink: Is there a need for a first round of questions for Anna Vegter about the

Financial Policy?

Patrick Driessen: Last year there was a signification drop in the revenue that was generated. So

why is this higher again then last year? How are you going to accomplish this?

Anna Vegter: Well we can’t be sure of course. But I’m sure the Commercial Officer and the

Career Officer will get a lot of new partners. And we also have a few other

19Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

plans for example earning money on Instagram promotion, Facebook

promotion, so we hope to get some more revenue from that.

Sander de Vries: I have two questions. First of all about sustainability, but also a tip for the

brochure. Use sustainable recyclable paper in order to make sure that you

stay sustainable. But sometimes being sustainable costs more money, are you

open to invest more to make the EBF more sustainable?

Anna Vegter: Yes definitely, the reason you don’t see this on the budget yet is because we

don’t have any real plans on how to accomplish the sustainability. So that is

why we haven’t budgeted anything for that. But for example we are looking at

using sustainable paper, so we are definitely looking into that.

Sander de Vries: Then the second question, I saw that you registered 1500 euro for alumni but

you have budgeted almost 3 times as much for the former board days. Why is

there going 3 times as much to former board, because they are basically

alumni aswell?

Anna Vegter: I can understand your question, we spend that much money on former boards

because they are still putting time in EBF, for example in the Audit Committee

or the Advisory Board. Also all of them have spent a whole year as EBF

Board. So that is why we still want to thank them. For the alumni events,

based on the evaluations of last years we found that that was the right amount

of money for the amount of people that attend the events.

Bob Berends: I was wondering, you state that the maintenance costs of the new website and

CRM system will be around 1050 euros. Why did you only budget 1050 euros

and why only for 7 months?

Anna Vegter: This is only for the new website, and because we don’t implement the website

right now, but hopefully in about 5 or 6 months. So this is an estimation of the

last half year of this year.

Bob Berends: Okay and another question, what does the expense Eye-on mean?

Anna Vegter: Eye-on is one of the events that we have, from the Speakers committee. So

the budget is for those events.

Adriaan van Schaik: I have a question about the total other expenses that are budgeted at 0. Is it

not wise to budget a buffer for incidental losses?

Anna Vegter: That would definitely be a possibility, however we looked at the debtors at this

moment. And at this moment it still looks like they will pay, so that is why we

expect to hopefully don’t have any losses. So that is why we decided to

budget it on 0.

Maurice Apeldoorn: I had a question about the website as well. Actually two. One is about the

maintenance costs. Why is there no budget made for developing the website?

Because when you have someone who can code, building the website can be

20Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

done a lot easier and more efficient when you can build it yourself and not

have to acquire someone from outside EBF.

Anna Vegter: Well I think it is not a possibility for any one of us to maintain it by ourselves.

However we actually want to switch to some sort of a lease contract. So in that

way we don’t have a website that is fully custom made for us. And that way

the maintenance costs will be a lot lower.

Maurice Apeldoorn: Okay, but there won’t be any original costs then?

Anna Vegter: Yes, but those are the depreciation costs which I showed earlier. For now we

think they will be around 8000 euros for the new website and 5000 euros for

the new CRM. And we will depreciate those in 3 years.

Maurice Apeldoorn: Then my second question is about the webhosting. You estimated this on

1000 euros. But last year it was 3150 euros, and you also say that you want to

implement the website after half a year. Wouldn’t it be wise to budget the half

of the realised budget of last year? Because you will still use the old website

for a half year.

Anna Vegter: Yeah part of the the costs last year were for example the new server which the

last board implemented. That is also part of the webhosting. So the real

webhosting costs are actually a bit lower.

Anouk Eikelboom: So I saw the acquisition revenues were decreased in comparison to last year,

but the business gifts are increasing. Why is this?

Anna Vegter: The business costs are increasing but that is a little bit of a mistake. Because I

budgeted that on Wouters numbers from a few months ago, and it turned out

that they actually spend less on that. So we will be able to do that as well. Also

we hope to acquire some new partners this year, so if that is the case we

might have to buy some more business gifts.

Anouk Eikelboom: Okay, and the former board day is budgeted the same as last year. Don’t you

think you have to spend more, since there are 8 more people on the former

board year the coming year?

Anna Vegter: Well the realisation of last year is a provision. So the former board year took

place after we closed the bookyear. So that is why those are not the exacts

costs but it’s an estimation.

Anouk Eikelboom: Okay, and in your presentation you talked about sustainability. But I see the

costs of printing are increasing. Wasn’t it a policy point to not use that many

paper no more?

Anna Vegter: The costs are increasing, but since we are not exactly sure on how we want to

decrease our paper use, for now we budgeted it as the same amount as last

year. But we definitely focus on using less paper. So hopefully at the HALV I

will present a lower budget for printing costs.

21Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

Kas van den Broek: Why will the budget of socials and consumptions be lower? While our penny

adtjes will not be any less?

Anna Vegter: Well I definitely hope our penny adtjes will continue. But the costs are lower,

because the old board spend more on their constitution drinks last year. So we

budgeted it on the normal amount. And we will see how it goes with the drinks

for the upcoming year.

Eva Markerink: Is there a need for a second round of questions for Anna Vegter?

Sander de Vries: I noticed that you are for the second time in a row budgeting a loss. I was

wondering based on what criteria did you and the Audit Committee base their

decision that the association is healthy enough to be able to handle such a

loss.

Anna Vegter: Well we looked at our current finances and we believe that our focus and

policy points and the improvements that we want to make will add enough

value for all of our members that it will be worth the loss that we make.

Sander de Vries: Did you also set some target for the upcoming years? Like this year we can

handle such a loss and then next year we have to do this, or are you looking

year by year?

Anna Vegter: We mostly review it year by year. But we definitely also look at all the years

together. So we will definitely keep that in mind.

Eva Markerink: Are there general questions concerning the Financial Policy of the EBF Board

2017-2018? Is there a need to put it to a vote? Upon the following drop of the

hammer the Financial Policy of the EBF Board 2017-2018 will be established.

9. Any other business

Eva Markerink: There were not any other business points raised.

10. Questions

Eva Markerink: Are there general questions for the EBF Board? This is also the moment

where you can congratulate the EBF Board.

Annelien Netjes: Dear EBF 2018 – 2019. On behalf of the Risk 2018-2019 board we would like

to congratulate you. We are looking forward working together with you all! We

also wish you best of luck with executing your policy, it sounds really

promising so we are looking forward to the results. Since your transition period

is very long, we haven’t seen you all a lot in the first weeks. However, we got

to know a few things about you. First of all, we could always recognize your

board by happy and smiling faces at the interim. Keep that faith up! Since you

are the largest board with some positions that do not have an ‘ interim uitje’,

we invite you do just join one you like. Besides that, we hope you are as

22Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

sporty as your predecessors and join our sport clubjes as well! Bart is looking

for some swim mates! Lastly, we heard there are not that many singles in your

board. We hope this will not be an obstacle to our integration. Anne, Fiona,

Luuk, Anna, Thijs, Tim, Laurien and Marit: we wish you best of luck for the

upcoming year and we will see you around

Judith de Jonge: On behalf of the TeMa board of 2017-2018 I would like to congratulate you

with your appointment. I think this policy is very ambitious but I hope you are

going to execute it very well. And I wish you all good luck in the upcoming

year.

Jeroen Berends: Dear EBF board 2018-2019, congratulations on behalf of the TeMa candidate

board 2018-2019 on becoming the new EBF Board. We hope to follow in your

footsteps tomorrow and have a successful General Members Meeting just as

you just did. Even though it is difficult to overcome the successes of last year,

I’m confident that you will be just as successful or even more successful. With

all the experience you all have gathered so far, this looks really promising for

everything that is going to come next year. I want to wish you good luck with

achieving your objectives and most of all, I want to wish you good luck with

maybe the hardest part of the year which will be tomorrow when you arrive at

the interim.

Frank Oude Avenhuis: Dear, dear, dear EBF board on behalf of the MARUG board we want to

congratulate you. We saw some promising plans. We have had a promising

mix last week which unfortunately showed that you all have lots to learn,

because Luuk was the only one who actually made it into the city with us. So I

definitely hope that you will learn to party a bit more next year. Tim to start of

with you, you are a football player. And actually we hope you will have more

success at the companies then you did on the football field. Thijs it was a

shame that you couldn’t join us in the city because you can spice up any party

with your dirty dance moves. Marit you are the brain of your board, you

finished your bachelor with an honor’s degree. We hope that we can learn

from your wisdom sometimes. Anna the very still waters run deep, because

we hope that you have as much fun in your board year as you had in

November during your dizkartez camp. Fiona we hope to see some more of

you, we saw a video of some bellyshots in the Chupitos. Always stay partying.

Laurien we were surprised to find out about your past as a goth skatergirl. You

probably will replace the EBF scooter with a skateboard. Anne not many

people will know this but you were in fact member of the greatest study

association of the interim, at the MARUG you organized the battle of

marketeers. And this event discontinued after this year. So we hope that won’t

23Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

happen to the EBF. You have presented some great plans and we are

confident that you will make it a great year. And we look forward to a fruitful

cooperation.

Wibo Ypma: Dear EBF board 2018-2019, first of all I would like to congratulate you on

behalf of the 14th candidate board of the study association PM. I wish you all

good luck with your ambitions next year. And we look forward to a fruitful

cooperation next year.

Sander de Vries: Dear EBF board, we would like to congratulate you as well. We think you have

a very challenging policy for the upcoming year. We at VESTING are a very

big fan of the sustainability as well. Furthermore we found it cool that you

budgeted such a big loss. I hope to see you guys more often in our VK, to get

more in the fifty cent shop. I hope to present some good fifty cent stats. The

stats with who bought the most consumptions. This year I forgot, be we will

certainly not forget next year. So I hope to see that those numbers will rise,

because we have not seen you guys that much yet. Furthermore we look

forward to kicking of the next academic year and have a great time next half

year as well. We wish you all the best of luck.

Lindy Houwing: Dear EBF board 2018-2019, on behalf of the EBF board 2015-2016 I would

like to congratulate you. Finally you are officially a board. It feels like ages ago

I was sitting in your spot. I know everybody will probably tell you, but don’t

forget to enjoy. Because time flies when you are having fun. And Luuk on a

personal note I am really looking forward to the Secretary party that you will

organize and Loes and I are definitely expecting a body shot from you and

Femmina. You will not talk your way out of it. Anyway congratulations and a lot

of good luck from us.

Anne-Sophie de Jong: Dear EBF board 2018-2019, on behalf of the Recruitment Days I would like to

congratulate you with your appointment. We are really looking forward to the

collaboration. Together with MARUG you are the supervisory board and we

are sure that this collaboration will work out great. As you might know Mandy

already got to know Luuk better. We hope to get to know you better as well.

Maybe in a different way. Anyway we wish you guys the best of luck.

Lisa Holtjer: Dear successors, finally you are now officially the EBF Board 2018-2019 and

you have taken over from us. Tomorrow you will immediately face your first

challenges when you arrive on the interim, while we are on our way to a well-

deserved holiday. So, while on the one hand we are sad to leave our amazing

EBF Board year behind, on the other hand we are relieved to hand over our

stress to such capable hands. On behalf of all of us, I would like to take this

moment to congratulate you with how successfully you have completed the

transition period and prepared yourselves to become true EBF Board

Members. We are extremely proud of all of you and are confident that you will

achieve great results together this upcoming year. Of course, we also would

like to address all of you personally. First of all, Marit. It is hard to write a lot of

words about you, since you are living the civilians life and you were always

busy during the candidate period. Luckily you managed to finish your

bachelor, work with your committee, do an extra honorous programme,

become a faster “adter” then your Commercial Officer and become a real

michelin star chef at the same time. But your biggest challenge is yet to come;

being as successful as your predecessor. But we are sure that you will do a

great job. I hope you remember this speech, since among your fellow board

members you are known as the one that forgets everything. Good luck, and

make us proud! Laurien, From moment one we knew that you had to become

the new Project Officer of the EBF. Not because you have exceptional

qualities that a EBF Board Member needs, but just because of your love for

alcohol. As former worker of the Chupitos you can use your party mentality to

make every social great and that is definitely something we need at the EBF

since we have a lot of them. Furthermore you are a hardcore vegetarian which

resulted that you even don’t want to buy meat for the rest of your board, a real

disappointment for them. Way more disappointing is that also this year the

Intern of the board will not win the “regelbokaal”. If this is because you have a

boyfriend or because you are not a real meat lover we’re not sure about. We

think you will do a great job as the Project & Internationalisation Officer and

we wish you the best for coming year! From ESR Participant to ESR

Chairman to Degree to Trainee Chairman to EBF Board. Tim Brons, as you

might know, Marketing is done right at multiple levels within the EBF. First of

all for all the events and second of all because Tims girlfriend Annabelle was

the IT & Marketing officer two years ago, or Bellie as you call her. To avoid

weird situations in the candidate period, you decided to wait an extra year to

apply for the EBF Board. This is a smart thing that not everybody does from

our experience. Speaking about Annabelle, ‘belle’ is indeed something you are

going to do more often next year. Responsible for the contact with companies,

calling will be one of your main tasks. Even though you did great so far, we

still have some doubts if you will achieve your goals next year. Not because of

your last name, since we always go for gold at the EBF, but because of some

of your communication skills. We luckily have not seen it at the EBF yet, but

we have heard it closeby. If something does not go your way at the football

field at TKB, you will whine, complain and cry like a little Timmy. So let’s have

25Economics and Business student Faculty association Groningen

Yearly General Members’ Meeting, 9th of July 2018

this advice to you: Do not get involved in sports with the EBF partners! If you

do so you will do a tremendous acquisition job coming year with all your skills,

experience and enthusiasm. Pecunia Non Olet! Thijs, as a fun fact of yourself

you mentioned that you are very clumsy. This resulted in a ruined suit just

before your ball on your exchange in Canada. Back in The Netherlands you

showed us that’s true during the cocktail workshop were the Cocktail maker

slipped through your fingers and fell very loudly on the ground. Besides that

clumsy fact you want everything to be perfect. We wish you good luck making

sure of that when constantly all the lovely PR Committee Members are asking

for your help. In the last months, you showed us a lot of dance moves and

after some drinks your dancemoves even become more and more wild. In our

board we have Wouter as our dancing master but we are certain that in time

you will reach that level as well. Make sure that you also share some kisses

during the dance moves to make your predecessor proud. Good luck and we

hope to see you soon. Anna, as an EBF Veteran you have returned to your

comfortable Treasurer spot, after a short ‘adventure’ as PR you made the right

decision to follow the money again since the EBF Lustrum Financials were a

piece of cake for you. Yet you still caused a shock in the Former Treasurer

community at the EBF by being the first lady to try on the position of Chief

Financial Officer. Generations of men watched you suspiciously climbing the

stage at the &zo, oh wait they didn’t, your alcohol tolerance appeared to be

lower than a particular former chairman guessed. Although, your size and

appearance might help you in certain situation next year to achieve a sufficient

‘gunfactor’. Still don’t be fooled everyone, behind the smile Anna proved

herself to stand her ground with an iron will. Goodluck Anna we think you will

do a great job. Luuk, you probably had the most difficult transition period in

comparison to your fellow board members. With no study, work or girlfriend, it

was still very hard for you to be on the interim at 1 p.m. Nevertheless, you

always made it in time for the meetings. At first, you were not a big fan of the

famous ‘meldplicht’. However, after some weeks as a candidate EBF Board

Member, you realized that you needed a ‘meldplicht’ if only to keep track of

your own accomplishments. In spite of your terrible dance moves you still

manage to kiss a girl every now and then, for example the sister of your very

own board member. As you said yourself: ‘If I will visit the parents of my fellow

board member, keep your mom’s and sisters away’. Nevertheless, we think

you are the perfect Secretary & HR Officer. You have already proven your

networking skills with old board members and we will be sure that you will be

able to recruit some new pretty faces for the EBF! As the first male Secretary

& HR Officer, we are confident that you will do a great job and enjoy this year

to the fullest. Fiona, With all your enthusiasm and your analytical view the

EBF Vice-Chairman position will be in fine hands this year. Something which

will be difficult the upcoming year is to row 5 times a week. Our guess is you

will easily gain 3 kilo’s this year. The Poelestraat is quite happy with your 9 till

6 mentality. In the order of 9 in the evening till six in the morning. In the

transition period you developed yourself even further and I am sure you will

gain a lot of extra knowledge and skills the upcoming year. Fiona make sure

you only help committee members with their committee work and not end up

kissing with them like you tried in your period as Candidate Vice-Chairman!

Enjoy your year and we are confident that you are the perfect vice-chairman.

Then, last but not least, Anne. You started your transition period strong, and

immediately broke the tradition I hoped to start of chairmen not making their

announcement. While this is a difference between us, there also seemed to be

a lot of similarities between us. For example, we both always lose at chwazi,

but you are even worse than me. So maybe good for everyone here to know; if

you want Anne to do something funny, just challenge her to a chwazi and you

will always win. Also during the rest of the transition period you proved

yourself to be 100% suited to the job of being a chairman. You were always

there, set a strong example, and you are a confident, and very sociable

person. This is why I am sure you will do a great job at guiding this group and

the EBF itself to great results. But, finally, Anne, I would still like to give you

one advice, which is to really start thinking about some good nicknames for

you and Anna. Because while we have heard that sometimes your board likes

to name you ‘Bunny’, which is by the way not because you are so cute but

because of whole other reasons, we are not sure that this will really stick.

Guys, good luck and have fun this upcoming year. We know you have already

heard it plenty of times, but this year will go by extremely quick, so make sure

you enjoy it to the fullest and make memories for life together.

11. Closure:
