Musician and performer John Fleming returns to the stage to perform his lat-est show, James Taylor: Bittersweet and Low.

In this new show Fleming (Scared Weird Little Guys) pays tribute to the legacy of Taylor’s musical brilliance. An icon of music the world over, James Taylor caught the mood of America in his songs, which blended late 60’s folk into the new rock. JT’s rise to fame was fast, and his frag-ile health and addictive nature almost ended his career and his life. In the mid 70’s he was faced with a choice that could change everything…

James Taylor: Bittersweet and Low sees Fleming not only showcase his prodigious musical talents, but also his writing and overall production skills, blending story, song and image into an immersive, engaging experience. His fine guitar playing, crystal voice, exceptional musicianship and clear storytelling are perfectly suited to this com-pelling tribute show.

Joining him on stage is a lineup of Melbourne’s best musi-cians to fill out the JT arrangements for Carolina in My Mind, Sweet Baby James, Shower the People, the iconic Fire & Rain, plus the music of Carole King, Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon.

John Fleming has amassed a huge wealth of experience born from literally thousands of hours on stage. For 21 years he was one-half of the internation-ally acclaimed and award-winning comedy duo Scared Weird Little Guys, with Rusty Berther. Since performing their final show in 2011, Fleming has pursued a broad range of activities including teaching, working in community arts, youth justice as well as directing a music festival. His broad range of ex-periences during this time has made him a seasoned performer whose empa-thy for characters and stories gives him a compelling presence.
