Year 2 Spelling Activities Use your weekly spelling words to complete the activities below. Please ask an adult if you are unsure how to complete an activity. Choose 2 activities per week. Connect the Dot s: Write your words out in dots, and then connect the dots by tracing over the words in a coloured pencil. Match Up : Write each of your words on 2 pieces of paper or card. Cut them out and use them for a game of memory. Bubble Letters : Write (or type and print) each of your words out in bubble letters. Colour your words in with pencils. Cheer Your words: Pretend you are a cheerleader and call out your words. Make up moves to go along with them! Back Writing : Use your finger to spell your words on a friends/ parents back so they can guess the word. Swap and play again. Sentences: Choose 3 of your words and put them into one sentence each. Underline your spelling words. Tongue Twister : Write a tongue twister for 3 of your words. Underline your spelling. Example: Sally sold seashells by the seashore. Dave dug deeply into the dunes.
