• The Province of Milan has defined a new instrument of territorial planning, the PTCP (currently in its approval phase), aimed to support and coordinate the territorial transformations of one of the most complex metropolitan areas of Italy and Europe.
• The Territorial Plan (PTCP) has been developed along the last three years in close collaboration with all municipalities and the main public and private agents. The Plan has been conceived as a strategic guide and coordination instrument to manage the territorial development, especially for urban plans of all province’s municipalities.
A NEW INSTRUMENT OF TERRITORIAL PLANNING
Territorial Planning Offices Lisbon - 20-21/09/02
• The Territorial Plan has defined the following basic instruments: - a register of the environmental conditions of the whole province, - a territorial GIS, as a support instrument of the different phases of the
Plan: design, management and development, - a strategic environmental assessment of the Plan itself.
• The constitution phases of the Plan have been coordinated with all Milanese councils, organized in twelve council associations, as well as confirmed by the General Conference of Councils
