Grover C 5/12 New School Honors Veteran's Memory by Bill Hawley West Windsor N.J. - The West Windsor-Plainboro Regional School District on Sunday honored Thomas R. Grover, a son of West Windsor who lost his life in Vietnam, at a groundbreaking ceremony for its new middle school. U.S. Army Specialist 4 Thomas Grover died Feb. 2, 1969 at the age of 22, Mr. Pete Grover said, At the time of his death, he had received a Silver Star , for heroism, and two Purple Hearts, for being wounded in action. "Naming the proposed Middle School for one who has made the ultimate sacrifice for family, community , and country is an act of great significance to the school children of West Windsor and Plainsboro." the groundbreaking ceremony program stated. "Through the halls of the Thomas R. Grover Middle School will pass thousands of young girls and boys, the leaders of tomorrow . They will be inspired by and forever remember a young man who gave his life to further the American ideals of hard work, responsibility , and sacrifice for the good of others." Specialist Grover served with Company C, 5th Battalion 12th Unitied States Infantry .
