Vision Planning

Goal:

To develop individualized plans that will prepare the students to compete for colleges, , financial aid, scholarships and post secondary opportunities.

Objective :

At the end of the session the attendees will be able to :

1) Explain the importance of HB400 and the Georgia Bridge ACT 2) List and describe the benefits of Vision Planning for college. 3) List the components of a Vision Plan ( college readiness, career awareness, job readiness). 4) How will Vision Planning enable you to increase the teens ability to compete for college.5) Identify the resources for developing Vision Plans and Post High School Plans.

What is HB400 and the Georgia Bridge Act

Purpose:High school students shall be provided guidance, advisement, and counseling annually that will enable them to successfully complete their individual graduation plans, preparing them for a seamless transition to postsecondary study, further training, or employment

Building Resourceful Individuals To Develop Georgia’s Economy

In the sixth, seventh and eighth grades, students shall be provided counseling, awareness, career interest

inventories and information to assist them in evaluating their academic skills and career interests.

High school students shall be provided guidance, advisement and regularly scheduled counseling that will enable them to successfully complete their individual graduation plans, preparing them for a seamless transition to postsecondary study, further training or employment.
