Schools subsequently recommended that Baru wafat be declared a special holilay and that one special holiday be allowed for Ramzan in addition to the general holiday how enjoyed , the number of hondays for theMuharam Dwing reducou from 5 to 1, and Cuandunukkidum being cou vertel into a local holnity to be enjoyed on one of the Andrarum holidays. Thu Ag . Director of Public Inptruction supported Mr. Sulaimau's recommendation . The total number of special holidays for Alabomedans proposed by Mr. Sulaiman uuder this arrangement remains the same as before, ut ., 9 . The matter was roferry to the two Maloruedan members of the Legislative Council. Suhib bahadur K . Khadir Plai, who alone has replied , fully supports the proposals of the Mahouedan Iuspector.

Excise Department.
XOTICES. 1 . Tenders are invited for tha contract for the supply of (30,000) thirty thousand mannds
of salt for the usa of the Travancora Government from the salt factories in the Tinaavelly District for the current Malabar year 1100 .
2 . Tenders should be sealed with wax andsuperscribed " Tander for ths supply of Tinne. velly Salt" . They should be addressed to the Escise Commissioner , Travancore , Trivandram , and either proganted in person at the Excise Commissioner's office or posted in time to reach the Excise Comunissioner bofora the 1st Kumbhom 1100/ 12th February 1925 , Teplers received after that date will not be accepted.
3 . Each tender shall be accompanied with a deposit of Bh . Rs. (350) three hundrait and fifty in cash or in currency notes and also by the sample of salt the tenderar is prepared to supply . Salt santas samples shall not be less than one ser in weight and shall be socurad in clean white bottles Sealed with the sale of the ten lerer. The sample produced should be of the best light quality available in the factories at Taticorin and should consist of large crystals.
4 . The salt should be brought from the factories in the Tinnevelly Di authorities in that District may permit, the contractor for this purpose making his owa arrangements with such anthorities for permission to remove the article from any partienlar iactory or factories,
5 . The rate offered shall include all charges connected with the purchase of alt from tha factory , the payment of the cess daa thereon , the conveyanca of salt in hags containing two
mundy from the Tinnevelly Distriot to Quilon by rail, the further transport of the salt from the Railway station at Qailon to the Government storaya atrodonear the Railway station in the Quilon Cantonment or at the Port Balt Depot ng may be required and r clause 13, the storage of the salt in such sheds and all other items incidental to the prowuring of the bags, the weigh ment at any place or places in the Tinnevelly District, the re -weighment at Quilon , the stitch ing of the bags, & c .
6 . The tendere will be opened by th : Excise Commissioner at this oltice at Trivandrum at 19 noon on let Kumbhorn 1100 /12th February 1925 in the presence of such of the tenderers or their anthorised agants as may bs in attendanc ). It is hereby notified that the materials of the Depot building at Kayamkulam will be sold in auction by the Depot Officer , Tharayamukku on the spotat 1 P .M . on the 29th Dhanu 1100 . Intending bidders must pay an earnest money of Rs. 15 before they are allowed to bid . This sum will be credited towards the sale amount payable on conclusion of the sale in the case of the successful bidder , while in the case of others it will be paid back on the spot. The sale is subject to confirmation by Government. The full amount bid must be paid immediately after the sale in concluded . The building should be dismantled and tire materials removed only after the confirmation of sale 18 communicated . But this should be done within a month from the date of communication of the confirmation order. Any further particulars can be had from the Office of the undersigned or from the Depot Ollicer, Tharayamukku.

NOTIFICATION . • The Veeralam Oottupura building at Attingal will be sold by the undersigned in public
auction at the site on Monday the 29th Dhanu 1100/ 12th January 1925. The auction will com mence at 2 . P . M .
Persons wishing to bid should deposit a sum of Rs. (50 ) fifty before they can be allowed to bid . The successful bidders will have to pay down at the spot one fourth of the bid amount and the balance with in one week of the confirmation , of auction . Persons failing to pay oue fourth of the bid amount on the day of the auction will forfeit their deposit and those that fail to pay the full amount within the time specified will have no claim for the one -fourth of the bid amount paid by them .
The undersigned does not take any responsibility for the auctioned materials after their value is fully paid .
I'wo months timewill be allowed for yemoving the materials, and whatever materials are left at site after the expiry of the period will be Sirkar property and the anction bidder will have no claim whatever to such materials .
