Radical Abolitionist extremist. Killed five pro-slavery

settlers in the Kansas Territory.

Led a raid on the U.S. arsenal at Harpers Ferry, Virginia with the intent of giving the weapons acquired to slaves to start a slave uprising in the South.

Abolitionist and Author Wrote a fictional book

called Uncle Tom’s Cabin Book shed light on the

evils of slavery. Convinced many

northerners that slavery was bad and to fight against it.

Abolitionist, Journalist, and Philanthropist Started an

abolitionist newspaper called The Liberator

Founded the New England Antislavery Society

Founded the American Antislavery Society – a national organization.
