SPE 1002 Basic Engineering Drawing

This course is design to expose the student towards the basic method in engineering drawing. Emphasize will be given on geometrical drawing, construction and intepretation, line, technical lettering, dimensional, orthographic projection, isometric, oblique, auxilairy view and revilved. This course will discuss teachers' responsibilities towards safety and health in the context of workshop and work place of Technical and Vocational Education. This course is designed to expose the students with practical woodworking in civil engineering. The course stresses on handson woodworking by using handtools and machinery. Student's project work is base on building structure such as a pillar, window, door and so on. Apart from that students will be able to learn theoretical knowledge such as local timber , fitting, material, types of woodwork joints, and finishing of wood product. The students should also be able to work in a team an adhere to professional etchics.

This course is designed to expose students in domestic electrical supply system (single and three phase) and IEE/TNB regulation. Emphasize also will be given to topic on semiconductors espescially transistor and IC; types, elements, testing and operation. Hands on experience on usage of transistor and integrated circuit (IC) in eklectrical/electronic projects; audio amplifier, oscillators and multivibrators. Analouge and digital concept and usage of testing and measuring equipment in electronic technology; transistor and IC tester, oscilloscope, audio and frequency generator are included. At the end of the course, students should be able to demonstrate task and apply the knowledge by preparing practical report and solving practical electronic design problems. This course introduce student towards the technique of developing engineering drawings with computer aided. SPL 3412 Computer Graphic Application

This course is designed to expose the students in designing graphic using computer and traditional method for various purposes especially in teaching and learning, engineering, sign board making and clothes printing. It will emphasize on the general concepts of the art elements, material selection, graphic software, designing process and graphic product outcomes. At the end of the course, students should be able to demonstrate and apply the knowledge by preparing graphic design report, graphic drawing, banner, banting, sign board, safety sign and cloths printing. The students should also be able to work in team and adhere to professional ethics.

This course is designed to expose the students to theoretical knowledge and case studies of product and consumer behaviour. It will emphasize on the presentation of a series of case studies, pertinent products and systems are analyzed in terms of design, engineering, marketing, quality aspects, cost and other output factors, organization and the management of designing, professional responsibilities, ethics, consumer behaviour and copy right laws and design registration. SPL 4002 Automotive Technology

The course introduces the students on automotive systems, diagnose the failure of component, location and operation. Emphasize will focus on the vehicle system such as fuel system, cooling system, lubrication system, ignition system, charging system, chassis, suspension and steering system; drive system, brake system. Current issues on automotive technology and its relationship towards future demands are also discussed. At the end of the course students should be able to develop and doing the practical of all the system had been taught. This student will also be able work in group and present their finding.

SPL 4102 Food Technology Processing I

This course is designed to expose the students towards the basic concept of food technology. It consists of the discussion of food acceptance in terms of the value of nutrition, food color, food shape, food aroma, food taste and food texture. It will emphasize on types, factors influenced and the impacts of heat transfer on food. Several methods of food processing using heat transfer such as dipping food in boiling water, sterilization, vaporization, dehydration, baking, roasting, frying, microwave oven and infra-red radiance are also introduced. Each of those methods will be followed by discussion on its weakness towards food quality. At the end of the course students should be able to explain the process of heat transfer on food, discuss strengths and weaknesses of food processing towards food quality

SPL 4112 Food Technology Processing II

This course will give initial exposure to the students about some if the methods in food processing which isdone without heat treatment such as ‘chilling' with controlled temperature, freezing and freeze drying.Emphasize will focus on operations, advantages, disadvantages and its effects on food quality. Besides that, itwill also focus on attributes, functional and examples of food additives (acid, alkali, buffer agents, sweeteners,flavourings and colourings) and how they affect the quality of foods. The function and the importance oflabelling, food act and regulation, monitoring agencies, packaging and canning are also included. Current issueson advanced food technology and its relationship towards future demands are also discussed. At the end of thecourse students are able to explain methods of food processing without heat use, discuss criteria and functionsof various types of food additive , explain the importance of label, act and regulation of food and discuss thepackaging and canning of food processes.

This course introduces students to some basic knowledge, theories and skills in breeding, producing and managing livestock and pets. It will emphasize on the general concept of breeding and managing aquaculture, ruminant and non ruminant livestock like goat, cows, chicken and quail. It will also discuss on pets breeding and managing especially for rabbit, cat, iguana and hamster. The course will also provide fieldwork in carrying out the breeding and managing of chicken, quail and fish. This course is designed to expose the students to technological, industrial hierarchy and developing competitive edge over competitors. At the end of the course, students should be able to discuss and apply the theories and principle of product design in designing new product.
