On Monday, December 5, 2016 Conservation Staff Tiarna Doherty reported exhibit damage at D. W. Reynolds Center to Assistant Security Manager Mr. Vincent Williams. Ms. Doherty notified Mr. Williams by email that a painting called "Red

Baron" by Gene Davis had been damaged. Mr. Williams viewed the exhibit and there was an indention at the lower left of the painting approximately 6 inches wide. An investigation was started. Officers were questioned that worked the weekend no one recalled any incidents with the painting and thought the indentation was preexisting. Exhibition staff

Amber Kerr verified that the damage was new. Watch Commander Fernando Diaz, Jr. was notified. The camera associated with the location of the painting is# 2018 and looking at the camera you cannot see the indentation. The camera will be reviewed further to see if it can be determined when the damage occurred.
